After hearing from a friend about the new (it was new then) Dynasty Warrior game on the PSP, I just pooh-poohed it because I thought the game was just like its predecessor DW 5 which I played before in the PS2.

Hack, slash, tons of people come in, hack slash and more people come in

That was the basic principle of DW gaming then. Still it was a lot of fun for me because it was my stress reliever back then. Playing DW5 was like zen to me especially when school, work and life was practically choking the life out of me.

Game-wise though killing 1k+ of mindless AI soldiers gets bland once in a while and it really gets tiresome to finish all the stories of ALL the characters the game has. That’s not including the fourth set of playable characters that do not actually belong to any of the three kingdoms.

I was already playing at the extreme stage of the game too so imagine how much the game can give me then.

So here I was thinking that strikeforce was only a psp port of the DW game I played then, boy was I wrong.

The game is harder compared to the other DWs I’ve played before. The AI is smarter and knows they finally know how to dodge your straight forward attacks. This is both a blessing and a curse because it antes up your game or you’d end up like me, eating the dirt for about the nth time.

If that’s not hard enough boss battles are really tough to accomplish especially if the boss has lackeys that have their own skill to mess you up with. The AIs know how to gang up and would do it without fail.

This pushes you to actually convince your friends to get a hold of the game and be the ones to gang up on the ‘big wigs’ of the game and beat the crap out of them.

It took me a LOT OF times just to finish the Yellow Turban rebellion arc of the story using Liu Bei… so yeah call me noob, call me an idiot or whatever I still say Strikeforce is that HARD, but that doesnt stop me from trying my hardest to finish the game on my own lol…
