This has very strong yuri vibes.
Tokaku is a trained assassin who has just received a new job. She’s to transfer into this classroom and kill someone. But the catch is that all other students there are also assassins out to kill the target. In a sort of sick kind of game, the first one to kill the target is the winner of sorts.
So now we’ve got ourselves a dysfunctional classroom full of female assassins. The show never explains why they’re all female. The school looks coed.
But for some reason, Tokaku ends up being drawn towards Haru, the likely target. And if we’re to believe the blurbs about this show, she ends up developing feelings for her and protecting her from the other assassins.
I allowed myself to draw from manga descriptions of the show because, well, the pilot episode was very slow. The whole episode just pretty much saw some shades guy info dump the situation, and then the assassin girls engage in various passive-aggressive actions. Nothing much really happens, except people introducing themselves.
So why is Haru being targeted? We don’t know, but it seems like it has something to do with the scars on her leg. Why is Tokaku drawn to Haru? Beats me, but maybe something about her past. Will there be a male character relevant to the plot? Who knows…
Simply put, the show offers two key points: Femme fatale and Yuri. Both doesn’t quite cut it for me.
Rating: 4.5/10
P.S.: It’s by Diomedia. I hate Diomedia for what it did to Campione.
