Wee~ Another kind of game-to-reality kind of anime.
Okay, maybe that’s not quite accurate. But we’ll get to that Sora (18) and Shiro (11) are a pair of NEET gamer siblings. They’re kind of like an urban legend of sorts, able to use four accounts between the two of them to defeat 1200 other players in a match.
In any case, they’re not particularly fond of life on Earth. So when a suspicious email is sent to them challenging them to a game and offering a world where everything is decided by games, they bite.
And suddenly, they’re transported to a world where, in fact, everything is decided by games. Everything, including who the next king will be as well as whether robbers successfully rob you. It’s kind of like Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu yo, only that Mondaiji had combat challenges while No Game No Life looks like it strictly focuses on just recreational games.
So it’s not really a game turning into reality, but more of a transferred to a fantasy world kind of thing.
So is the show good? It’s pretty fun, as it looks like it’s gonna delve into a lot of in-game cheating and tricks like how Liar Game does it. It might not be as smart as Liar Game, heck it’s not even remotely close, as the pilot episode’s trick never gets explained, but maybe we’ll get a fraction of it. Even just a fraction is fine.
On the other hand, it’s interesting to note that while the sibling relationship might look incestuous, it’s surprisingly not. The age gap probably plays a part, but Shiro looks like she’s just attached to her older brother, while Sora just looks like a caring older brother. Which I think is pretty cool for the show.
What I dislike though is the pastel-y colors of the show. It kinda hurts my eyes.
Rating: 7.5/10
P.S.: The fanservice seems randomly thrown in.
