B2G On-Location: Manila Game Jam 2012 Day One

The fated hour has finally arrived!
A large number of game developers all over the world, may they be students, professionals and/or independent, have gathered in their country’s game jam locations to take part in the biggest game development marathon of the year: the 2012 Global Game Jam. Roughly a hundred participants in the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde and more than thirty in the University of the Philippines ITTC have signed-up to take part in this exciting two-day race to create a fully-functional game.

Pinoy2DFighters, in cooperation with Team X-Over, Blazblue Philippines, and A2G/Playmore are sending out February with an explosive finish with Labanparooza 2012, a multi-game tournament spanning an entire weekend.
The featured games at Labanparooza are Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Ver. 2012, King of Fighters XIII, Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend, and Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. Prizes those await who triumph, so you might as well start training.

Blazblue Philippines Charity Ranbat Results (and Some Pictures, Too!)

Without any further delays, here are the results of last Saturday’s Charity Ranbat hosted by Blazblue Phlippines. The event was held at iPlay over at Sherwood Place over on Taft Avenue, Pasay. The event was a success, raising a considerable Php 5,760 for Little Angels Home Inc. (LAHI). (more…)

The Astoria Plaza Tribeca function room played host to Bloggers’ Night 2011: Brands That Click last Monday, December 5th. The event served as a way for the night’s participating tech companies to formally introduce themselves to the local blogging community. Iontech, the brains behind the event, sees blogs and the people behind them as a new driving force in getting brands out into the open via online word-of-mouth. (more…)
UP AME Monogatari Cosplay Photos, a.k.a. “Hey Vince, no one’s going? Okay, I’ll go.”

University of the Philippines Anime and Manage Enthusiasts (That’s UP AME, for short) held AME Monogatari the latest in its long-running yearly cleebrations of Japanese anime and manga culture this Saturday at the World Trade Center tent in Pasay.
Weirdly enough, no one seemed to be on hand to go and for the heck of it, I took it upon myself to go check out the event myself. The result? An afternoon and early evening well-spent and a batch of cosplay photos, which you’ll see after the jump. (more…)
Pinoy Gaming Festival 2011

Last Oct. 29 – 31 were the dates that marked the three-day gaming event at Cyberzone, SM North Edsa Annex which we came to know as Pinoy Gaming Festival 2011. The three day event was filled with gaming tournaments for DotA and Starcraft 2. Local Cosplay celebrity, Alodia Gosiengfiao also graced the event on it’s first day while the cosplay competition was held on the last day.
Since we weren’t able to cover all three days. So here are the coverage pictures I took during the last day of the event (after the jump).
League of Legends – World Cyber Games Finals @ Garena

October 22, 2011 marked the day where two teams duke it out to get the right to earn the title of “Philippine Representative” to the World Cyber Games for League of Legends. The Garena office became ground zero for the epic battle between team Bida Gaming (BD) and team Wild. We were given the opportunity to watch and be part of history.
So here’s a big congratulations to team BD for taking the crown! You can see the coverage pics after the jump!
E-Games Guild Congress and Road to Domination: A Brief, But Rocking Stay

My stay at Saturday’s IP e-Games Guild Congress and Road to Domination VI kickoff event was a short one, but for the brevity of it all, it was still pretty sweet. Though I arrived shortly before lunch and the event officially started, the atrium of SM Annex Cyberzone was already brimming with members of IP e-games’ massive community. (more…)
