Street Fighter X Tekken Commercial Shoot Gets a Little… Violent
1Thousand Pounds Action Company, the fine folks behind the slick Ultra Combo videos and fan film Naruto Shippuuden: Dreamers’ Fight are at it again, but this time, they’ve got some backing. Working in collaboration with Capcom, Thousand Pounds is shooting a commercial to coincide with the release of Street Fighter X Tekken early next year, and this is the announcement of said collaboration. You Can Haz Weaponized Nyan Cat? Unreal Tournament 3 Haz!
0Anyone by now should know about the ever cute and irritating Nyan Cat (unless you have been living under a rock). We’ve had people syncing the song with Indian dancers and whatever it is we could think of, and now the ultimate version of “Nyaniness” has come upon us and it’s in the form of the Redeemer from Unreal Tournament 3.
Modder Scott Coxhead along with Bi()ha2ard and Azurescorch were able to make the lovable Nyan cat into something more sinister and well- epic. The “Nyan” Rocket has the psychedelic rainbow POV, the actual soundtrack plus the rainbow trail sprouting out of Nyan cat’s behind and even it’s 2d pixel look.
So if you want to troll your enemies at Unreal Tournament 3 or just want to have some fun with Nyan Cat download the mod on this link.
US Catherine Trailer ‘Rips Off’ Japanese One
0The idea for both the JP and US trailers for Catherine is the same, though the US one didn’t feel much like an interview, but still interesting.
Portal + Super Mario Bros. = Hijinks Ensue
0Portal is one of the best video games in recent history. Super Mario Bros. is one of the best video games of all time, period. Put those two together and you get something supremely awesome, right? Well, yes… and no. Actually, as evidenced in this video from the fine folks over at Dorkly, Mario becomes a bit of a dick. Not only to Bowser (we can still dig that) but even to poor old Luigi. So, what would you do with your very own portal gun?
Family Guy x Street Fighter II
1Love it or hate it, a large part of Family Guy’s humor is built on cutaways and non-sequiturs with heavy pop culture (and sometimes historical) references. As you can see here, they’ve taken a stab at referencing Street Fighter II, which in my opinion is pretty spot-on. The moves, animation, and sound effects are mostly faithful to the material they’re referencing. The Hundred Hand Slap at the end may not be exactly how it was in the game, but that’s just me nitpicking.

Mega64 Does a Mean Limbo
0Video game parody group and all around band of trolls Mega64 is at it again with their take on one of last year’s best and I dare say gloomiest Xbox Live Arcade games. Limbo is a side scrolling platformer developed by Denmark-based Playdead Studios and was received with widespread critical acclaim upon its release. It’s one of the dreariest, most depressing games I’ve had the chance to play recently and appropriately, Mega64′s parody comes with the requisite monochrome filter, bloom lighting and squishy death sounds the game is known for.
