So to test this one out, I’ve decided to use our very own Nicole as the guinea pig for this change. I’ve summoned her from the depths of her dungeon and now has willingly sat down and talked for the interview.

We were studying at the same college why didn't I meet any gamer girls like her? *bitter*

Haoson: So what was your first video game?

Nicole: I believe it was Tetris. Or Galaga. Or Balloon Fight. Good god, I sucked so hard at Balloon Fight.

Nicole: HAHAHAHAHA SHIT TAPOS MAY EVIL SEA CREATURE DIN?

Haoson: lol Anyway so I assumed that your first console was the famicom? What’s your fondest memories of the unit?

Nicole: Hihi, you said ‘unit’.

Haoson: LOL

Nicole: Okay seriously now. hahahaha I won’t call it the fondest memory but it happened so many times it’s ingrained in my system. I’m talking about that wonderful ritual of blowing the cartridge and praying to all that’s holy that the unit runs the game. (there are so many innuendos in this answer that I won’t even bother correcting myself haha)

Haoson: Umagang umaga nicole GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF! haha!

Nicole: But it’s the truth! Tell me you didn’t blow on your cartridge!

Nicole: CONTRA. FOREVER. I remember being immensely satisfied with finishing Contra. It’s a surreal feeling, finishing a Nintendo Hard game. I vividly remember begging my brother “CAN WE PLEASE UP UP DOWN DOWN now?” Before I was educated about the Konami code, I called it Up Up Down Down. haha!

Haoson: Seeing your list it seems that you are a big RPG fan, why is that?

Nicole: I’ve been writing stories since I was 10 years old. Games allow me to not only create  but actually be part of another world.

Haoson: With that said have you had the experience of being too “engrossed” in your own world?

Nicole: I would probably lose a lot of girl points by saying this but I once skipped bath for 3 days because I was too ‘engrossed’ in another world. I was like, “My character smells minty fresh! I DO NOT NEED A BATH!”

Haoson: What game was that?

Nicole: Happened once while I was playing Aika Online, and more times than I dare to admit while I was playing Dragon Age Origins

Haoson: What made you decide to FINALLY take a bath?

Nicole: …. I was.. uhh.. starting to get itchy. Too gross?

Haoson: No, not really I’ve heard of worse things. So moving on, You’re a big DAO (Dragon Age Origins for you people who don’t know) fan right? What made you sooooooo love the game?

Nicole: Aside from Alistair? (this is the part where I desperately try to prove that I am a girl lol) It HAS to be replayability. I can tell a HUNDRED stories with what DAO was able to offer. I got to be a slutty heroine, a stoic noble girl, a lesbian lover, a mage hater. Create your own story is the future of RPGs! Haha

Haoson: So among the above mentioned characters you created what character archetype was the most fun to play? why? HERE WE GO [evil grin]

She wore my roy mustang cap during the mini meet with writers XD

Nicole: Oh dear. I enjoyed a lot of characters (the girl with the elf fetish is one of the fun ones) but I think I love my Noble Queen the most. I love her the most because I got to marry Alistair! THERE, I ADMIT IT.  It was that brilliant gem of a moment, when Alistair was introducing me as the hero of Ferelden, when his voice went all booming, “And, as a reward for your heroic efforts” and then adding in a voice meant ONLY FOR ME, “and as an engagement present.” I melted!

Haoson: So… do you consider your current BF as YOUR Alistair?

Nicole: He actually has a lot of things in common with Alistair. They’re both temple boys, both capable of delivering witty one-liners, they both fumble when trying to express their feelings. And… uh, I can also imagine going through that iconic Alistair conversation with him. (stalling this) hahahaha!

Haoson: Go on…. [evil smirk]

Nicole: The player would ask Alistair something like, “Since you grew up in a temple does that mean you have never…?” Alistair would say, “Never what? Had a good pair of shoes?” “You know what I mean” Then of course the convo escalates until Alistair admits that no, he has never had that kind of uhm, activity with women. His words, “The chantry isn’t exactly the place for rambunctious little boys” Boyfriend is exactly like that. And now I shall remain silent.

Haoson: So if your bf does that to you what would happen? [grin] (and yes dear readers, I’m purposely STRESSING THIS TOPIC)

Nicole: Does WHAT to me? [eyebrow raise]

Haoson: THAT [points at earlier conversation] the Alistair thing.

Nicole: well if he starts beating around the bush when I ask him if he has ever done it with a woman, I’d probably say “Awww… that’s really cute ” (which I think I did because the conversation DID happen OMG I SHOULD STOP TALKING NOW).

Haoson: Uh yeah you should there are areas where we uh… can’t tread ( at least not in the interview anyway, so we chat about THAT in the future ayt? LOL). So continuing on with DA II coming out what’s your thoughts about it?

Nicole: *nervous laugh* Boyfriend is so going to kill me for this. Anyway, YES, DA2! There has been a lot of talk that DA2 is going to be a dumbed down DAO. And I don’t want to believe it. I trust that Bioware will still give me the same depth and wonderful experience I had with Origins. It’s tough to shake the worries away though.

Haoson: so among the game devs is it safe to assume that you OH SO LOVE BIOWARE?

Nicole: YES! THEY ARE MADE OF WIN AND AWESOME AND UNICORNS AND HAPPY LAUGHING BABIES!

Haoson: If you’re given a chance would you jump at the next plane and visit their office?

Nicole: I’d WALK to Edmonton if I have to!

Nicole: I was a dying gamer before Dragon Age Origins arrived. The last best RPGs I’ve played was Persona 3 and 4 and Square Enix was making me a sad panda game after game.  DAO came out and my hope for humanity burns once more. haha.

Haoson: So do you consider yourself a socially inept person? Since a lot of people consider gamers to be too reclusive to even work normally in society.

Nicole: Socially inept… probably not. However, I do manifest strong antisocial tendencies. (I have cancelled dates to stay home and play one too many times lol) Too reclusive to work normally in society? HAH! That’s exactly the thing. Personally, I treat my whole life like a game. I develop social links, stomp on goombas and level up. I work hard at what I do because I know that it will pay off in the end. The gamer in me knows that and believes that. If anything, games has taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, saying the right things at the right time and luck.

Haoson: What do you consider as your real life “goombas”?

Nicole: Douchebags, people who pull other people down in order to get ahead, people who cut lines, people who litter, jeepney drivers who smoke while driving (SRSLYWTF)

Haoson: Since you mentioned smoking Jeepney drivers, I had to ask, do you have any vice?

Nicole: Coffee. And alcohol.  and, hohyeah I’m going to be cheesy here, GAMING! GLORIOUS GAMING!

Haoson: So do you also agree with what kevin butler said on his time on the E3 Sony Conference? (which I personally think is the ONLY HIGH POINT in the sony part of E3)

Nicole: FOREVER MAY HE REIGN. *bows low*

Haoson: Sooo… what’s your message to other gamer girls out there? [smirk]

Nicole: I hate you Vince

Haoson: Thanks I love you too

Nicole: Okay, here’s my message: Nowadays, you give any chick a controller and she’s immediately marketed as a gamer girl. Doesn’t matter if the only game she ever played is Sims 3. “Girl Gamer” has become such a target for advertising that it loses its true meaning. It’s tough enough to be taken seriously as “girls who game” we don’t need this stereotyping to make it more difficult! I challenge every self-confessed girl gamer out there to explore new territory. Break the stereotype! Log out of Farmville! Play a game not just because it’s cute or because you can change outfits. PLAY IT TO OWN IT.

Haoson: So does this mean there’s a distinction between GAMER girls and girls who play video games?

Nicole: I’m usually averted to labels and titles which is why this whole “gamer girl” schtick makes me really uncomfortable. But I think the title “gamer” is such a big word to call yourself. It’s like calling yourself a writer. If you have to call yourself a writer, then you probably aren’t one. Everyone can play video games, but not everyone is a gamer. I think I’ll leave it at that.

• I’d go for Tifa Lockheart. Aside from the fact that she can handle herself real well against bad guys, I also want Cloud Strife to drool over me. Haha =)

• That’s easy. I’d go for a Kelbi! I mean, why the hell would I hunt for a Tigrex or even a White Fatalis in real life if I know that it would definitely kill me when I hunt them alone, right? Lol I’d go for Long Sword, my weapon of choice.

• Hmmm, that’s hard. Does hanging out @ coffee shops count? Haha! I also love to surf the net and stream movies and the latest episodes of American series.

• I prefer either fighting or flat form games. I like games that I can simply vent out in and since I admit I’m not very social, these games I particularly enjoy alone. It serves as simple “me time” and doesn’t need a lot of brain-cracking to figure out except for the occasional puzzles.  Plus I love being an imaginary bad-ass and I get to express this most in brawling games.

• I do like consoles the most. For me they are made ultimately for gaming alone unlike the other devices that have other purposes. It’s good to be all-around but when it comes to entertainment gadgets, I prefer to have it specialized like the consoles where play is the only thing you can focus on it or at least mostly.

• Pretty much Xbox 360. First because I already have the Wii; next is because it is still the most expensive main stream console in the market wherein most PS3 games can be available for it too; and lastly because it can play pirated games. Wait…am I allowed to say that here?!

How about if you were given a free handheld what would you choose? Nintendo DS or PSP?

• Nintendo DS because I adore the game line-up there and I always end up borrowing my friend’s just to play them and also because I already have a PSP. If you’re curious why it’s because I thought I would enjoy PSP more but I changed my mind or I’m simply being greedy. =D

Are you more of an online or offline gamer?

• Definitely offline. As I said I’m more of a solo-flight type of gamer.

Let’s say you were given the choice to change the world into one of the games you played before (or you are currently playing), what game would it be?

• I would choose right now is “Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity”. As I said also I really love animals and I would sure like to know what it feels like to be an anthropomorphic character. Maybe a really cool cat perhaps? XD Plus I love the idea of gravity-defying extreme sports. I’ve been such a weakling to do it for real.

If you can change yourself into one of the many heroines in any game, who would you change into?

• Definitely Bayonetta. I mean come on she’s uber bad-ass! Who wouldn’t love to be her? Plus I’ve always considered myself to be an ass-kicking witch.

Who’s your most favorite game character?

• Hmm…too many also to tell. But for now it’s Sonic the Hedgehog. He is a timeless icon in my life which helped immerse me to be a gamer in the first place. I always thought he was eccentric but really cool at the same time and quite well-loved. I think that’s how I personify myself as a gamer.

What are your other hobbies aside from gaming?

• A whole lot as I would like to keep myself busy. This includes drawing, writing, reading, craft-making, modeling/cosplaying, taking care of animals, occult and paranormal stuff, eating, sleeping, working-out sometimes and shopping.

• I prefer handheld because of the portability and the ability to play with friends anywhere but of course the PC comes to a close second.

• PS3! I’ve never liked the Wii and the Xbox360 is too buggy based from what I heard. The PS3 has more appealing features and perks plus more quality game titles to go gaga about.

How about if you were given a free handheld what would you choose? Nintendo DS or PSP?

• If I didn’t have a PSP right now, I would still choose it. I personally think the games are better and more geared toward a mature audience.

Are you more of an online or offline gamer?

• More of an offline gamer, what turned me off with online gaming before was one I didn’t have a decent internet connection and now that I do, sometimes girls are treated a little more different and often not in a nice way. Lots of pervs out there unfortunately.

Let’s say you were given the choice to change the world into one of the games you played before (or you are currently playing), what game would it be?

• KOTOR! Wouldn’t it be cool to be a Jedi and have a purple light saber? Hahaha

If you can change yourself into one of the many heroines in any game, who would you change into?

• Aribeth from Neverwinter Nights, even though she eventually became a villain, she still was a pretty powerful Paladin and one of the most recognizable characters in the game series.

If you were turned into a gaming console what console would you want to be turned into, who do you want to own you and why?

• A purple vinyl clad PS3 owned by a guy who will treat me like I’m the most prized treasure in the world….why? because even though I’d be like any other PS3, the extra customs will make me very unique thus something that should be valued.

What are your other hobbies aside from gaming?

• Blogging has become a pretty intense hobby for me, well it started out as that and now it’s turning into a passion. Aside from this, I still pretty much doodle and sketch a lot and soon will venture out into photography.

• Persona 4. Kasi aakalain mo na normal lang yung mundo mo, but then meron pa palang other side kung saan maddiscover yung truth na hinahanap mo, sa sarili at sa world na ginagalawan mo.

If you can change yourself into one of the many heroines in any game, who would you change into?

• Errr…Chloe Valens from Tales of Legendia. Gusto ko kasi sa kanya yung sense of justice niya (pero usually nagooverboard) and may similarities kami pero hindi naman ganoon halata. :3

What would be the most random thing you did? Why did you do it?

• Most random and craziest thing I ever did is tumakbo ako ng almost 1 kilometer at full speed na kaya ko then I passed out suddenly in the middle of the street, wala akong kasama that time. Late na kasi ako sa finals ko noon dahil sa sobrang traffic na hindi ko alam kung saan nanggagaling. Ayun, lalong hindi nakapag finals.

What are your other hobbies aside from gaming?

• Drawing and story writing.

Why do you think pinay gamers rock?

• Nakakayang makipagsabayan sa mga malalakas na players. LOL Pero ui, aminin, totoo yun. ;3

What’s your message to all the gamers out there?

• Ipagpatuloy niyo yang gina—errr I mean huwag niyo kalimutan na may priorities pa din tayo sa real world, like work and studies. I know, bummer, pero ang gaming ay nandyan para tayo ay magkapag enjoy at hindi para sirain ang buhay natin.

What’s your main game?

• Granado Espada, I love the graphics, the gameplay, the music and the ideas how it all created and began. I love how the creators of the game visualize and how they made the game very interactive for players just like me. I also love the game because of the servers; there are a lot of choices if you want to have a PK or a non-PK server. And yes, a thumbs up for the music and the backgrounds that had been out together and became one of my main reason of loving the songs and that had been the reason for me to design a lot of stuffs. Granado Espada is one of my main reason why I blog, write and create stories in my blog. And through the game I met a lot of people around the world and especially here in the Philippines.

How did you start playing video games?

• Well, I have to say, once a gamer is always a gamer… I start playing video games when my brothers are very addictive to it and might as well be their influence. I played win or lose to be entertained, learn and to be challenged.

• Street Fighter

Your proudest gaming moment?

• Hmmm this is a hard one, I think it’s Tekken 6 “yet” at the arcade(Timezone). As far as I know, only a few can beat me in that game. But whenever I play, I should say, It was a great game because I really am doing my best even if I win or lose. It is the typical game where me and my friends play the most outside our school and our workplaces and yes we tend to enjoy it the most and whenever they get beaten by me all they say is “CAROL ANG DAYA DAYA MO!” (“CAROL YOU ARE SUCH A CHEAT CHEAT CHEATER!”) with a smile I should say. Haha! I love this game because sometimes I dreamt of cosplaying of one of the characters here, and I can feel all the excitement whenever I play this game especially when my lifeline is getting drained and my challenger is at his devilish scheme hahaha!

• Role Playing Games (RPG), I love Role playing games because by the word it says “Role Playing”, so it means there is a particular character given to you with a “Role” for you to rule and for you to use. I like RPGs for some reason there are a lot of story lines you can follow and while following base on the story line you have the options to redeem some of the add-ons in the game: additional story lines (whenever you finish the game 2x or more), additional music, manas, stregths, EXPs, gifts, inventory enhancements, etc…

Preferred Gaming Platform: (PC, consoles or handeld)

• Consoles, I preffer consoles because I am use to it since my childhood days. Sometimes I get to freak out whenever I play pc games and sometimes even lose the game for the fct that I love my laptop and my desktop so much that I am scared to break it and might even lose it. (I lost my PSP once. T___T just great for a good heart break. That PSP is my bestfriend whew with a value given to me by my brother)

If you were given a choice for a free console what would you choose from the three? Wii, Ps3 or Xbox360?

• Maybe PS3, because I still want to pursue my gaming skill and hobby as a gamer and I still want to continue all the stories from new games that I wish I could have continue or such.

How about if you were given a free handheld what would you choose? Nintendo DS or PSP?

• PSP, the 1^st release one if given the chance to choose, I really love playing Tekken and some RPGs. I like PSP because I get a chance to play games and as well listen to music or even watch videos. And, yes it is also compatible with my headphones haha!

Are you more of an online or offline gamer?

• I prefer both. I can balance things with or at the same field. I prefer both because it always depends on the game, platform, genre, game type, graphics, music, story lines and the like. And it all depends too whenever the taste I want to pick depends on the things I want to write in my fanpage and in my blog.

Let’s say you were given the choice to change the world into one of the games you played before (or you are currently playing), what game would it be?

• I like Suikoden series, Full of mystery, magic, twist base on the story lines, graphics and music (can be optional), and the things every character is fighting for justice, good and freedom.

If you can change yourself into one of the many heroines in any game, who would you change into?

• Change? It’s a permanent thing in this kind of world. Maybe I prefer Viki in Suikoden series, she pops, sneeze and begone in a blink of an eye because of her power and magic to teleport. She is pretty too. She is always the help of every Protagonist I usually encounter in the series and without her life in game would be pretty nasty and difficult and the game won’t be that interesting. Viki, in Suikoden series RPG games in Playstation and made by Konami, a Teleporting Mage and Mistress.

Who do you think is the most interesting gamer you’ve met? Why do you think so?

• I think there are no “most Interesting gamer” I can encounter in this kind of life. Why? Because everyone I met is unique and very interesting. All have their ups and downs, all have their strengths and weaknesses and especially they have their own thing in games. So for me I there is no living person whom is an interesting gamer I can ever met.

What are your other hobbies aside from gaming?

• I write, I am a writer from my blog http://keohime.tk/… I write, inspire people base from experience and let contributors contribute their story as I read and learn and share to my viewers and non-viewers. I do sports, I am an athlete, who loves to compete and have fun… try new things and stuffs. Love the pain coming from my muscles and love the teamwork coming from the joys of my team which we all give our best and put hardwork on it. My other hobbies are singing, cooking, designing webs, paintings, and building projects which can help our community and my fellow students in our University and outside the University. I got a lot of ‘em but I’m sure to gather and learn a lot, for experience is our best TEACHER. And Experience cannot be bought from stores. Some of my hobbies are connected to my present status as a student and an organization officer in our university. With that, whenever I plan, My friends are with me. I get to hang with them most of my time doing all these hobbies. And aside for all of that, it is my hobbies yet, there are a lot to come, to explore, to learn and to meet! • We rule and we rock because we have something in passion and in common that can make every game “played with full colors and bloom with all the blossoms”. We as pinay, a woman, lady and a girl is as tough as guys were doing! We can rule,and be tought to touch as guys were doing. And, Pinay Gamers, it’s a color in every game. Without US GAME SUCKS and without PINAY GAMERS, LIFE AND GAMES ARE BORING AND CAN FALL APART! In short WE RULE and WE ROCK! PINAY GAMERS RULE! ^__^

What’s your message to all the gamers out there?

• Be yourself and don’t let your guard down as a gamer and as a person for life is only a once in a lifetime opportunity that can be given to you by God. Enjoy, be happy and in everything you do give your best and be your best for that what is being counted. Enjoy, be happy and always remember to put a smile in everything you do. And most of all, believe in yourself that you can always be unique, that can always be a gamer that you need and use to be and you must always think out of the box for strategies and for having fun!

• I’m more of an offline gamer, I think that is my habit of gaming.

• The world of Final fantasy of course why? Well I like to ride a chocobo, hug some moogles, cast some magic or summon and more.

• Noel Vermillion from Blazblue, she’s my favorite character, adorable beautiful and cute .I can see some personal traits on that character and indeed, very responsible on a certain task.

• Cosplaying, making music video remakes,  photo shoot modeling, dancing, spending time with my friends, gaming with close friends, painting, shopping, watching movies and eating Junk food

• I was with my college friends in the arcades, I borrowed 1 token because I was being frugal that day. I played this game called “Rumble Fish”; I was going through the stages smoothly, friends were amused by all this they started challenging me and they couldn’t win. FYI, it was my first time playing Rumble Fish. I reached the final boss but was defeated I think I won one round but it was all in vain, hehe. I’m proud of this ‘cause it all happened with 1 token, I’m not really an arcades person.

• It is quite a tie between consoles and handheld; consoles because it’s worth it, every month its bound to have a new game released, most of the games that I’ve been very fond of I’ve played in consoles. Handheld, well simply because of the fact that it is very handy, you can anywhere as long as the situation allows you to; my PSP has become of the things I’ve become accustomed to bringing with me.

If you were given a choice for a free console what would you choose from the three? Wii, Ps3 or Xbox360?

• PS3! Why?! Well…first off, I don’t have one. I’m a 360 owner. I’d like to see what the PS3 has to offer, with all the great reviews and feedbacks it’s been getting, I can browse the internet, there definitely is something with that console and it’ll be a great addition to my Playstation collection. I would also like to try MGS.

How about if you were given a free handheld what would you choose? Nintendo DS or PSP?

• NDS! I’ve yet to play with it so it would be really great if I had one!

• I’m more of an offline gamer; I haven’t played MMOs for a long time.

Let’s say you were given the choice to change the world into one of the games you played before (or you are currently playing), what game would it be?

• Definitely Final Fantasy 8, I really liked the whole school concept. It would be great to actually have a school like Balamb Garden,  I really liked how they designed it, makes you envious of Squall The towns in the game are also great, if I’m to live there, I’d live in Balamb City because it seems like a peaceful place.

If you can change yourself into one of the many heroines in any game, who would you change into?

• Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3; she’s one of my ultimate favorite heroines. Mitsuru’s character really amuses me, I like her snobbish I’ll kick your arse if you get too close personality. Plus, she lives in Japan and points a gun on her head to summon her Persona. It’s pure win.

If you would be given a power from a game character, what kind of power would you ask for? Why and what will you do with it?

• Sonic’s ability to run fast! Haha, I would really like to have that to avoid the heavy traffic I usually stumble upon, I wouldn’t  need a car anymore I’ll just grab my boyfriend then and we’ll head off to school! XD

What are your other hobbies aside from gaming?

• My boyfriend and I are fond of web designing; I’m currently learning how to do things.  I’m also into graphic designing; I update my DeviantArt whenever I have something new. I like learning new things especially when they’re related to computers. I enjoy watching movies, tv shows, J-dramas with my boyfriend.

• Video games will never fail to entertain you, but it should be done in moderation. I think you’ll be able to enjoy playing video games even more when you have nothing to worry about school, so school tasks always comes first. • I used to be an offline gamer, but when I started playing Luna Ph I didn’t have much time to play offline games anymore. I’m now an online gamer which lets me to get connected with other gamers. Social interaction is the key to become a successful in Luna Online.

• Final Fantasy 7 and 9 because of the place, story and characters fascinates me plus the summons and the material you can use. The entire Final Fantasy series are an amazing way to enjoy a good adventure.

• Kid in Chrono Cross is just so cool. I like her free spirited character who loves adventures and the fact that she will never turn her allies down.

• It’s my mother’s uncle’s daughter’s dog T_T of course I’ll go there and comfort her! I’m pretty confident that my guildmates will win even without my presence. :p

• I love to sleep. I also enjoy reading fictional stories and baking.

• I’m not playing anything right now since I’d want to focus on my studies first but if I really have to say something, it’d be Defense of the Ancients since for me it requires less time, attention and money than the others. Oh, and a bit of Guitar Hero.

What’s your main game?

• My main game used to be pRO but I stopped after some 5 years because of personal reasons. pRO was my first MMORPG and no one really influenced me into playing it. I just did so I guess it kind of stuck because I had so many online memories on pRO and I met lots of people there, too. After pRO, I tried Cabal but I put it on hold because I had to tell myself to focus on my studies. I easily tend to get addicted — REALLY addicted.

How did you start playing video games?

• I started playing video games because of my guy cousin who was four years older than me. He introduced me to video games when I was, I think, 5 years old or younger. But thinking back, I was told I played stuff on Atari when I was younger. I’m not sure if we should count that or something because I was really young. I sort of remember some odd racing games and this joystick with a button on top.

What was your first game?

• My first game was Street Fighter. I can’t recall exactly which SF but it’s the one that did NOT have Cammy, T-Hawk, Fei Long and DeeJay in it. I had this huge childhood crush on Ryu Hoshi who eventually became my childhood hero. After Street Fighter, I met Mortal Combat and somewhere in between I met Mario and Sonic. My first console was a Sega Megadrive where I played Sonic and Knuckles, the very first game that I owned.

Your proudest gaming moment?

• My proudest gaming moment… That’s a hard one. I think there are two — one for online and one for console gaming. Online was when I was able to finally transcend my Priestess into a High Priest. I was so proud because that High Priest used to be a sniffling Beta acolyte (yep, I was a beta tester/victim) who had a very colorful rainbow build. I was thinking along the lines of Diablo I back then so my “Full Support” Acolyte had STR, AGI, VIT, INT, DEX, LUK… I’m surprised as to how I was able to make it to transcendent class but even after costing me cash, time, effort and much sleep, when I saw my character wearing those pink High Priestess robes, I couldn’t help but sigh, sob…………… and then scream — LOUDLY.

• My other proudest gaming moment would probably be me sitting in front of a Marvel Vs. Street Fighter machine in Quantum, being challenged and dominating over 7 guys in a row. I don’t mean to say I’m freaking good by that. By all means, I have quite to learn. But it’s just that the mere reason they challenged me was because I was a girl and it kind of sucks being looked down on just because I’m a girl.

• I used to belong to the Chronicles of Strikers (pRO) but now I don’t really have any affiliations.

• Hard question. Well, I go with anything, really but I guess I don’t like racing games. I suck at those regardless of the platform or console. And I have no idea how to play sports games. I FAIL at NBA anything and hurt my fingers just trying to understand FIFA Soccer on those old “Goodboy” consoles.

• Another hard question. I just love them all. It’s a close call between PC and handheld. I like the PC because of a wider range of possibilities and handheld games give me the pleasure of gaming whenever, wherever.

• I guess I’d say the PS3 most probably because they have the new Final Fantasy 7 Complete coming out. I’m a total Cloud Strife sucker fan girl. I was also told that some PSP games were discontinued because the developers decided to make it for the PS3 instead (i.e. the next God of War installment) but I still have to verify that. However the Wii comes in a very “distance-of-a-hair” close second. One word — INTERACTIVE. I’m a hyperactive girl and I find interactive gaming rather cool. I mean if you’ve witnessed the era of Atari and FamiCom then I guess you know how it feels looking at an innovation like this. It’s kind of embarrassing to say that I’ve only tried Guitar Hero yesterday. I don’t even know how to play the guitar but I SO want to play another round. I don’t know much about the Xbox360. Sorry.

How about if you were given a free handheld what would you choose? Nintendo DS or PSP? (Why)

• PSP!!!! Without batting an eyelid, I’d say PSP!!!! It’s just that a lot of games I like are on the PSP.

Are you more of an online or offline gamer? (Why)

• Although I’ve been spent a lot of time and money being an online gamer, I think I’m still an offline gamer because of its boundaries. I’m not generalizing but there ARE people playing online games who has characters that LOOK good. Let’s face it — the surfacing of the bots and gaming currency being on sale for PhP is everywhere. I mean, what good is a fully-equipped character if you can’t even use it properly? It kind of pisses me off that there are a lot of gamers out there who brag about how cool their characters are without even fully grasping the concept of the game. Cool characters, sucky pilots. For me, right now, offline games have provided a boundary that levels the playing field somehow even with the existence of walkthroughs and such. You can actually see who the poser gamers, the real gamers and the hardcore gamers are. That’s just me and my opinion, though.

Let’s say you were given the choice to change the world into one of the games you played before (or you are currently playing), what game would it be?

• It’s a cross between Final Fantasy and Ragnarok Online and it has NOTHING to do with the gaming system. Living in a world like Final Fantasy would be cool IF you were one of the heroes. The myriad of possibilities this game has along with the creativity, the drama has turned it into one of the game world’s I’d like to live in (along with the chance of me finally meeting/marrying Cloud Strife but that’s just the fan girl in me *grins*). Living in a world like Ragnarok Online, on the other hand, would be fun. This is probably influenced by Aragan’s “Ragnarok Wisdom — Oh Load! He’s At It Again!”

If you can change yourself into one of the many heroines in any game, who would you change into?

• OMG OMG OMG TIFA LOCKHEART!! She kicks some serious butt!! I mean the moves she used on FFVII AC were nearly enough to drive Spiderman’s Maximum Spider to retirement!!

It’s about an hour before the dance, and you don’t have a partner yet, your only choices for partners are Yoshi, Kirby or Pikachu, who would you choose and why?

• Pikachu, babeh! If I get pissed off, I just go “PIKACHU! THUNDERSHOOOOOOOCK!” And that’s just getting the party started. It gets even better. *evil grin* Oh, and I’m talking about Ash’s Pikachu not just some random Pikachu. I mean, THAT Pikachu can kick the asses of LEGENDARY POKEMON with SHEER EMOTION!! Imagine what I can do to evil professors with those— okay, ahem, never mind.

• I’m into net surfing, manga, anime, photography, art, writing, blogging.

• Pinay gamers rock coz some of the guys say “Babae lang yan.” So we get to enjoy their faces when the line “Babae lang, tinalo ka!” comes up.

• Most people (especially adults) say video games or gaming itself is bad influence but gaming is much like anything that exists in the world.
