World Gamemaster Tournament – Last Saturday
Last saturday I headed out to Cyberzone, SM Manila to take part in the media SFIV tournament. This was held in conjunction with the World Gamemaster Tournament finals for both SFIV and COD: Modern Warfare for gamers. The event not only hosted the tournament but also showcased products for Intel and of course Asus.
I was able to meet up with GameOps peeps Glenn, Rocky, Lalaine, Mark and Jepoy and Tim Villasor of The Crusader’s Realm. Me, Glen, Rocky, Jepoy and Tim were participants of the Media tournament. It was my first fighting game tournament that I went past the first round (because my first forays into such tournaments failed at the first round). So let me take this time to congratulate Tim for winning the tournament and taking home a UX50 notebook.
Bands Franco and Up Dharma Down performed while there was a cosplay competition to fill in the intervals. After all that has happened, Luigi Penzones, Ben Gozales and Marc Madie took home the 3rd, 2nd and 1st place respectively for the SFIV tournament while Team TFK-S, Team Q and TFK-R took home the 3rd, 2nd and 1st place for the COD: Modern Warfare tournament.
It was really a fun-filled day and hopefully when the next invitational comes I am better prepared.
