The Day When a Fake GM Kesy of Crossfire Tried to Get Into My Account (that I don’t have)

In the world of MMOs you’d often get announcements that GMs would not be asking for your “password” and only your account name. The reason behind that is GMs would only need to get your username to access your account to check, edit or add to it. Since GMs practically have access on the game’s backend and would have no use for your password.

Of course there are still a lot of players out there who get duped whenever someone contacts them with a [GM] on their name since there are still a lot of people who would rather get ahead of the competition, through lying and stealing.

One such person tried to that to me. Sadly, he/she failed. And as my public service to gamers I’d like to share my story on what happened so hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone ever again.

To the one who owns the account:Malas mo lang pre, hindi ako uto-uto, at lalong malas na me blog ako at papakita ko sa lahat yang ginagawa mo, mahiya ka sa balat mo- Idaan mo sa skills, hindi sa pandudupang”

It all started when out of the blue, a GM Kesy GameMaster (http://www.facebook.com/gm.k.gamemaster.96) added me through FB. I checked her account and surprisingly, she is a Gameclub GM (not sure which game specifically). Upon checking I saw her info as:

So at first sight it seemed legit. Since as I mentioned earlier I don’t play the games Gameclub are offering, though I DO KNOW of them I let it go.

Then last June 23, I got this weird msg from the “supposed” GM kesy:

As you can see the account just kept on asking me if I want ecoin over and over again. I even told the GM that I don’t play Crossfire (even though I am the FPS guy in the group). Yet “she” kept on asking me if I want an ecoin.

Eventually, things escalated last week when:

So, let’s break things down a little bit:

  1. I told the GM more than once that I don’t play CF and “she” kept on berating me about me wanting ecoin
  2. When I told her again that I don’t play CF, she asked for my username AND my password

As I said earlier, GMs don’t ever ask for your password. They don’t need it cause they have access to the game’s database. So obviously after (finally) getting a reply from the said account I indirectly said to the “account” that he/she is clearly fooling the wrong tree.

Here’s the complete screenshot of her page back then:

Right now it seems that the account is still alive. AND the one who owns the account had the balls to even add a cover photo of GM Kesy.

Mag-ingat kayo sa mga ganitong klaseng account. Uulitin ko, HINDI KAILANGAN NG GM MAKUHA PASSWORD NINYO dahil USERNAME LANG pwede na sa kanila.

I want to ask to any readers out there, if you have stories like this (if not this specific account) that happened to you, please leave your story in the comments below. We need to crack down on these players who only cheat and steal to get ahead. I’d also forward this to Gameclub as well so hopefully they do something about it.
