Kingston DataTraveler R3.0 Flash Drive

Today we’ll be literally crushing a flash drive and make it swim in water… before that, the obligatory formal intro:

Flash drives have certainly become the de-facto portable storage standard of modern day and we usually take them for granted. You might have that one USB flash drive in your desktop drawer that’s slowly being forgotten because you probably dropped and the body is all banged-up now. Whatever the case may be, flash drives have become our companions in transporting computer data and these little fellow tend to end up in some pretty bad situations. Almost a year ago, we looked at a product from Kingston aimed at people that demand flash storage that can take a beating and still keep on ticking. That product was the R400 and today we have the latest iteration of Kingston’s DataTraveler R product line sporting a USB3.0 powered interface with the DataTraveler R3.0. We’ll be doing something special for you guys for this review and you bet it’ll be very showy!

There’s no denying that Kingston is the top dog of the memory space. Enthusiasts can go front that their Corsair’s and G-Skill’s are better in whatever e-peen stroking they want and we won’t argue but in sheer volume and sales, Kingston dominates the market and that’s a fact. With a highly varied product port-folio, this company has managed to insert itself into a lot of computers today. Kingston is famous for their memories and their flash drives and today we’ll be looking at a more specialized model from the DataTraveler line.
