History

The guild was founded when seven players in Silk Road Online (SRO) decided to band together and form a guild. While looking for a decent name for their SRO guild one of the seven decided to base their guild’s name to one of the rarest items in SRO that time, the seal of sun. With seven members as the core group the band of friends then put together two and two to form their name, 7th Seal.

Early Beginnings (Prior to Luna Online)

After creating the guild name, the fore fathers then strove to become the best guild in SRO, however, in time, the game began to wane and the seven decided to go separate ways with some stopping definitely in playing MMOs due to real life responsibilities while some shifted to different games. With some members of the guild bringing the 7th Seal name in various MMOs like Cabal Online and Lineage.

Guild Master JohnyArcher was then busy establishing the 7th Seal name in Lineage when Dakila (part of the original seven) invited him to come and play Luna Online. However, JohnyArcher thought then that the game was too childish that he didn’t seriously play the game.

However, it seemed that fate already made its decision to put back 7th Seal into the limelight when Lineage started to become too stagnant. It was then and there that JohnyArcher decided to join Dakila in Luna Online which is being handled by GPotato because there was no PH server yet.

With a steady beginning for Guild Master JohnyArcher (with the help of Dakila who was by then one of the few who attained the level cap of the game), they then decided to re-establish 7th Seal. It was then that they heard that Luna Online was coming to the country and they had to once again leave their established ground to move to a server nearer to home.

Back Home

The four founders of 7th Seal in Luna Online were part of the first people to Beta Test the game. It was there that they got to decide to get back together and re-establish 7th Seal. The guild was officially reborn in Luna Online PH during JohnyArcher’s birthday, December 4 of 2009. However, the founding fathers and members were already active within the community to show their support.

“We transferred to Luna PH kc i like to support the server kahit na masakit iwan yung gpotato kc high lvl n kame dun” according to JohnyArcher during our interview

With the guild back on track, they started recruiting members. Starting within the shop the four were on they got recruits, and those recruits brought in their friends which basically filled up the now 60 players they have.

The guild has been very active online and offline with a strong showing at the various live-events spearheaded by Run Up PH.

The GOLDEN RULE

Of course, with a big guild such as 7th Seal there would be times when problems do occur. Characters clash and even with a veteran guild such as this one, there would be moments where tempers would flair up. People tend to take things personally even if it’s just a game. To save itself from tearing the guild apart, the founders have established the golden rule:

Whatever happens in the game stays in the game

According to JohnyArcher, the first 7th Seal EB was kind of tense because people still had to adjust and learn to apply the rule. However, with the efforts from all the members, they were able to coexist and be harmonious like one a big happy family.

Brotherhood

7th Seal is basically a guild where everyone learns to respect one another. Though of course conflicts occur one of the four need to step in and mediate. However, according to JohnyArcher, there are less and less internal problems now compared to before which shows how much effort they really put into their online “family”.

Also, the leaders make it a point that they not only share the guild name, but also whatever blessings they have online and offline.

“7thseal clan is a family and ako ang pinaka big bro ng mga members ko so I make sure pag mayroon ako i-share ko sa kanila” says, JohnyArcher

The offline blessings they share within their members comes in the form of shelling out cash during guild EBs, because they understand that not all of their members are working so they pool their money so that they would be able to also accommodate those who are students.

Privilege

The founders have instilled this mindset that being part of 7th Seal is something not to be abused or misused. That is why they keep an eye on members who are nearing on crossing the line.

“Being a 7thSeal is a privilege so bawal abusuhin kasi hindi ako santo kick ko yung abusado hehehe”, JohnyArcher says

Enemies

Of course being part of a guild like this, its already a no-brainer that they take part in Guild Wars. With such strong bonds (and of course addict gaming) the guild has become a force to be reckoned with and has earned the ire of other guilds.

JohnyArcher however says that even if that’s the case, they don’t take it personally, because this is in fact a game. They prefer going diplomatic in their approach of situations rather than being a stubborn hard-ass group and if problems arise between 7th Seal and another guild they contact the guild master to talk things out.

Still, things are different in the battlefield as they believe on a Take No Prisoner way of warfare.

“I always say to my enemy that when you declare war you should be ready ‘coz we kill on site”  JohnyArcher says with conviction

Future

According to JohnyArcher, 7th Seal has no major plans for the game save for the purchase of farm land which is implemented today and the up coming X’mas party for the guild this coming Dec. 19.

So it would seem that 7th Seal has finally found its home in Luna Online– well, unless someone says otherwise.
