Resonance of Fate developer tri-Ace teams up with Konami to bring Beyond the Labyrinth (ラビリンスã®å½¼æ–¹), the company’s dungeon-RPG Nintendo 3DS title.
In this video care of Andriasang, we see a talkative female character wandering inside a luscious labyrinth with the ‘protagonist’. It is revealed in this week’s Famitsu that the game’s music will be done by Motoi Sakuraba whose work includes music for the Star Ocean series, Valkyrie Profile 2 and Resonance of Fate. Details about the story and the game’s mechanics are yet to be revealed. tri-Ace is also developing Frontier Gate for PSP.
From the looks of it, it will look like a dungeon crawler like the Wizardry series, but with the female character dragging you around inside the labyrinth. Hope to see an English release of this game. You can check Beyond the Labyrinth’s official Japanese site for more details.

Tri-ace is very good in creating games. Their creation is very detailed and you’ll see the uniqueness is there. I played all the games that developed by them and it was a great gaming experience. Battle system, mechanics and story are superb. I finish the Resonance of Fate for 150hrs and I made myself overpower.
I’m expecting that this is a nice game as well and I’ll be waiting for its english version.
tri-Ace is one of the few Japanese devs that I have faith in when it comes to creating innovative games. I’ve been a fan since the first Valkyrie Profile game and it is good the see them snooping around for publishers who are willing to publish their work and not being stuck with Square Enix.
Yes, we can expect Beyond the Labyrinth to be THAT tri-Ace brand of game. I even think this game will help sell the 3DS to the older gamers. Too bad Frontier Gate isn’t getting that much attention given that it will be released on a *ahem* dying handheld.
