With the recent tease of the upcoming BIOSTAR GAMING Z97X, the official BIOSTAR HQ Facebook page has once again teased an entire gallery of their upcoming board with what seems to be a final production sample of the GAMING Z97X COMMANDER.
UPDATED: FULL REVIEW OF BIOSTAR GAMING Z97X Motherboard
Clad in a dark military theme, the black and brown color scheme is looking good and the motherboard shroud is definitely a stunner. While some may claim that ASUS has claims on the mobo shrouds, we’ve yet to see them take any action on competitors that have used a similar approach in their motherboard designs.
From the images posted, we can see that the BIOSTAR GAMING Z97X will feature a 12-phase CPU VRM, 1 SATA-Expressports, and a total of 8 SATAIII ports. As mentioned in the original post, it will feature USB3.1 along with dual-LAN with one being from KillerNetworks and the other could be from its usual integrated NIC provider.
An M.2 slot is creatively hidden under the motherboard shroud just beneath the BIOSTAR GAMING Z97X naming on the board. We also see some onboard buttons as well BIOSTAR’s Hi-Fi audio treatment around the audio area.
The board teased is not confirmed to be final as the silkscreen for the GAMING name in the board print is still in what looks like stock fonts from MS Word with the official GAMING font used on the heatsink.
