Every Pilgrim reaches the end of his journey, some sooner than others.
Is the current quote playing inside my head as BioWare’s founding doctors, Doctor Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk have resigned at BioWare and completely said farewell to the video games industry. In this Gamasutra news, the two doctors finally bid adieu to company we’ve come to love and went on their separate ways.
Muzyka eyes into investing in and mentoring new entrepreneurs who are looking to impact sustainable social change while Zeschuk is planning to start up a web-based interview show called the Beer Diaries.
With the two fathers packing up and leaving for the pursuit of their passions, fans the world over are bidding the two hearty goodbyes and well wishes. This however doesn’t leave the inevitable question answered.
What happens to BioWare now?
With the two master craftsmen leaving, much is up to speculation on the fate of the company. With EA President Frank Gibeau practically shooting himself on the foot with his latest audacious announcement concerning EA and single player games (which is important since EA BOUGHT BioWare for those who don’t know and have been living under a rock) and the seemingly unsuccessful attempt on entering the MMO scene with SWTOR. It would seem that BioWare maybe finally losing it’s sight on what made the company great in the first place.
Powerful single player experiences.
Let’s all have to see what happens now specially since Dragon Age 3 was just announced two days ago.
Let’s just hope we don’t get F’d in the B….
