Aside from one-on-one fighting games, another genre that was popular in arcades during the early to mid-90’s was the side scrolling beat ‘em up. Games like Golden Axe, Final Fight, Double Dragon and many others ate up many a gamer’s token back then. One particular standout title was The Simpsons Arcade, which, along with a look and animation that did its source material justice, brought some cool new mechanics to the table and was genuinely fun to play.

If you happen to be a Street Fighter fan, head on over to Timezone in SM Megamall to try out the arcade release of Super Street Fighter IV. Aptly named the “Arcade Edition”, it also adds kung-fu twins Yun and Yang of the Street Fighter III series into its already considerably-sized roster, with two more characters on the way for a timed release. To further solidify the proof that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is already in development, series producer Katsuhiro Harada showed a short demonstration to the attendees of an MLG event in Dallas, Texas.
