Yes. I am an Asuka fan. Problem, Reifriends?

Purple Heart, Rachel Alucard, the Red Cyclone, the seductive and voluptuous Catherine, Reyvateil Saki and that Angry Bird.

They were all there at CosplayMania 2011.

[Cosplay] Ishi Ramos Does the Monster Hunter Kirin Armor Set

kirin-cospla-feature

Being a big Monster Hunter fan since Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, I’ve been pretty disappointed that the MH franchise has earned little to no love from the Philippines cosplay scene. There has been a few reported monster hunter cosplays on events that I have attended but sadly I wasn’t able to see them myself. So it’d be pretty dandy if anyone would point me to another MH cosplayer I could feature that’d be mighty helpful!

PSP Games Coming to PS3 With Upscaled Graphics, Extra Features

0

Let’s face it, there’s one niggling little question that PSP owners face from their friends when playing some of the better games released on the system… “Why isn’t this on PS3?” For those who have asked that question, especially of this little-known game called Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (I hear it’s a big deal in Japan), your prayers have been answered. Monster Hunter Game Coming to iOS This June

0

Capcom has announced that it will be releasing a Monster game for iOS devices this coming June. The above video shows the basic gameplay of the game, titled as Monster Hunter: Dynamic Hunting which seems to be a watered down version of Monster Hunter. There’s no exploration and none of the other small things that make Monster Hunter great.

Dynamic Hunting is more of a man against monster game rather than a full-blown MH game for iOS devices. This is just as well since considering that the game has no dedicated direction buttons or analog nubs it’d be a chore to play an MH game plus add the fact that I wouldn’t want to handle my iOS units the way I handle my PSP when I play.

MH 3rd Review: Yes It’s In Japanese and NO, I Still Can’t Read Nihonggo

My other Monter Hunter Portable 3 post wasn’t really much of a review. Since I barely touched the game (24 hours isn’t enough to make a decent review out of it). Now that I’ve clocked in about 60 hours in MH 3rd I can have at least enough to make a decent enough review for the blog. (Aaaaand also add the fact that I seriously need to get away from my PSP)

writer’s note: I shall refer to Monster Hunter Portable 3 as Portable 3rd, Portable 3 or 3rd so please be guided accordingly thank you! Oh also, I don’t have screenshots from my actual game since there’s no psp screenshot software compatible for OFWs, if there is please leave a comment here on where I can get it! Thanks!

My Borderlands Experience

0

My first experience with Borderlands was when a friend of mine had it on his PS3. I was able to play the whole night away and actually stopped when he woke up from his sleep. The game never really left too much of a fist impression on me since I wasn’t raring to get a copy of the game when I found out that it had a PC version.

However, the game was haunting me since then– up until I got myself a copy and played it on my preferred platform, the PC.

To build up hype to critical levels before its release on December 1st, Capcom has released the third and most likely final trailer for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. This trailer in particular does a good job of highlighting some of the new features like the enhanced Felyne comrade system and the new Yukumo village setting.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd Limited Edition Comes With A Sweet Pouch and More

Let’s get something out of the way first. I’m not this site’s resident Monster Hunter nut, but I can surely see the appeal of the series, it’s just that I’ve been on the fence about jumping into it for the longest time. Now, before you all go “Yeah, so why isn’t Haoson writing this?” let me tell you that he’s seriously freaking out and/or mulling over importing the bundle as of this writing. And so, the task of writing about it has been passed on to me. Now, back to business.

A limited edition for Capcom’s Monster Hunter Portable 3rd was reported on by Siliconera recently. The package includes a copy of the game, the requisite sweet collector-themed packaging, and Jinouga-themed items. The items in question are a pair of earbuds and a stylish black pouch. Jinouga, for those who just tuned in, is the poster monster for the latest game. The proverbial cherry on this awesome cake is the little Felyne Daruma cellphone charm. (more…)

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Review

0

With all the success that Capcom’s cash-raking Monster Hunter franchise has done for PSP, it’s not surprising that other companies will want in on the success. Some recent examples include Shin Sangoku Musou Multiraid (Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce for English-speaking audiences) and God Eater. Still, with these games, it’s hard to shake off the feeling that they’re still MH clones with their own little twists on the formula.

This, friends, is where Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker comes in. Sure, this is another game where you can go play cooperatively with up to three other friends. Sure, it’s another game where you take on massive enemies that barely manage to fit the PSP’s screen. However, the real kicker here is that it’s a true Metal Gear Solid crafted around the portable’s strengths and limitations. (more…)
