Okay so I know you guys have been itching for some updates regarding Forsaken World. Soo…. I’ve been bugging the people at cubinet to give us a lil’ bit more info on what’s in store for the game’s up and coming OBT. I’m going to have to bullet things out so you can just just read it after the jump.

But of course before I end this post it’d be wrong for me to leave you guys hanging- specially on the date of the OBT. I was told that Forsaken World’s OBT would start at the 2nd week of July. There is no definite date yet but expect the server to be open by then. So on to the updates!

• Level cap increased to 59

• All Timed Events below level 60 has been unlocked

Run Up Philippine’s latest MMO game is out and it’s currently on it’s Open Beta Stage. Grand Epic Online, a web browser-based online game focused on pets and adventuring. In the beginning, Goddess Nuwa patched the sky with multicolored stones and created the race of human with her magic power so that the world will no longer be quiet and tedious. To salvage human beings, Nuwa scattered the multicolored stones over the whole world. So that if someone finds the stone, he could get rid of the pain of reincarnation and became immortal.

Human beings developed for generation after generation for thousands of years, and eventually passed into a period of ignorance. Some of them found the multicolored stones and gained magical power from them. Then they built up their own rules by occupying lands and became the lords with this power. At that time there were two main tribes. The Miao Race leaded by Chiyou and the Shia Race created by Huangdi. Common people began to live a painful life between the wars of these two tribes from the day it started.

War has never ceased, neither would it be.

Nuwa felt worried about the cruel and fierce human being and had been looking for a solution. One day, she came across a pure white saussurea on the top of Tian Mountain. The saussurea grew in snow but didn’t have any dust on it. Nuwa cast magic on it to transform it to a young lady who was in totally white. This young lady was named Flower Goddess by Nuwa. Her beauty could attract the whole world and make the sun and the moon shame.

Nuwa sent Flower Goddess to the human world, hoping she can stop endless wars and let human being know the significance of life. So when Chiyou and Huangdi lost themselves in an intense war, a magical colorful light suddenly appeared at the middle of the battlefield. Everyone on the battlefield felt peaceful and homesick as a result of the light at once. Flower Goddess appeared in the light.

Chiyou and Huangdi temporarily forgot their greed because of the beautifulFlower Goddess. So the human world got a chance to breath relief. However, as time passed, they were more and more anxious to marry Flower Goddess. Desire breeds hatred. Hatred breeds strife. To fight for Flower Goddess, Chiyou and Huangdi attributed themselves again to endless wars. The kind-hearted Flower Goddess couldn’t help crying. All the efforts had crumbled to dust because of humanity’s greed, desire and evil. Her tears turned into rain and the whole world was crying.

“I befell the world to be a normal human and marry a man. But there is no such man who is kind-hearted, amorous, and as indifferent to fame and wealth as me. He should be like gentle fresh breeze blowing my face, but doesn’t take away my purity; he should be like gentle clean drizzle touching my hair, but doesn’t break my dream. Mother Nuwa gave me life-long time to find such a person. Now my tears wets earth. My crying shakes mountains. And my life has come to the end with regret. I will be expecting a peaceful world to come again.” After saying to Chiyou and Huangdi, Flower Goddess changed to colorful lights. Suddenly, all flowers came out over the world.

Me playing Eden Eternal was a serendipitous occasion: for lack of a good MMO to play, I was coaxed by a friend to try it out. My initial impression was dismal: the game was a cute anime-inspired MMO, with no PK (player kill) system, and chibi (short) avatars as characters. Nevertheless, I gave the game a shot, and I was not disappointed.

Eden Eternal is a straight-up MMO with a common “quest and grind for experience” system. You basically start out by creating an avatar via a simple customization screen, and you start off by choosing from two different classes: Warrior or Magician. From the onset, you are launched forth on tasks to kill X number of creatures, gather X number of items, and return to X number of NPCs to gain levels.

The game is customized for the casual player: an auto route system is available in the game, and by right-clicking on each quest your character will automatically proceed to the respective NPC or location designated by the quest details. Money is earned by killing monsters, completing quests or selling loot to the various merchants in the game, and items are gained from drops or as quest rewards.

The equipment system is reminiscent of World of Warcraft’s soulbinding mechanic: when an item is first acquired as a drop, the item may be sold to NPCs or to other players. Once equipped, items are bound and can no longer be traded, but can still be sold to NPCs.

…and now for the good part. Eden Eternal has fifteen character classes. Yes. FIFTEEN.

Perhaps its most impressive feature is its multi-classing system, a versatile system that allows each player to change jobs on the fly. You can be an agile thief one day then a rocking bard the next, and then turn into a powerhouse warrior or a bone breaking martial artist any time you wish. The customization in this game is so deep, it would be hard to master all of the character classes (unless you’re a night owl like I am).

Dungeons are instance based, with a limit of either three or five players being able to enter each instance. If you die inside the dungeon, you may restart and re-enter the dungeon again to rejoin your comrades, provided that they’re still alive.

Upon hitting level 30, the game will provide the player their very own mount after a very short quest: a cute and very serious alpaca which you can ride from town to town. Believe me, you will need that alpaca to get from town to town, since the world of Eden Eternal is vast.

Guilds in the game who manage to level their guild to 3 may opt to purchase an impressive feature for their pleasure: an entire town dedicated to them. This headquarters feature the guild’s own merchants, soldiers and even statues of their guildmaster and sub-commanders. High level equipment may only be developed in guild towns, and each member of the guild are given benefits when using the town’s amenities.

The game is vast, and there’s so many other topics I haven’t touched base on: it’s worth the experience, I guarantee it. Eden Eternal begins their open beta today at 10 AM: we look forward to seeing you there!

Anyone who’s itching to play Battlefield Play 4 Free can now do so with the latest Online FPS from EA going Open Beta last monday. Just log in on the site, register your account, create your soldier and you’re in. The game is pretty light in comparison to the usual FPS games EA churns out. I’ll be making a first impression post of the game after the servers stop kicking me from matches (alright already! I know we have crappy internet here… no need to rub it in).

Facebook poker game, Funmily’s Texas Hold ‘Em Global has finally reached Open Beta Test (OBT) stage. Players who have been playing Funily poker since it’s CBT stage will have their accounts wiped-clean to make way for the OBT.

Funmily poker is a Facebook poker game that boasts of it’s uniqueness compared to the various poker games out in Facebook right now. Banking majorly on the sprites, sounds, bells and whistles that are found all throughout the game.

Garena.ph has announced that League of Legends is finally starting it’s Open Beta Test stage today, January 22,2011! Alongside the OBT is the purging of all match records so that players may start anew with the onset of the game’s OBT stage. So clean records, clean hero roster and clean masteries (yes you have to work up again but at least this time YOU know better right? )

Also the OBT opens up the rune book and summoners can now level up to 30.

Just a reminder though, there won’t be an account wipe come OBT-release so if you want a good record then you better get your game on.

Here’s some of the patch notes provided with the OBT (version 1.27.51):

PVP.net

• Improved Leaver Buster – PVP.net will now automaticaly ban leavers. This works similar to a ‘driving points” system for driver’s licenses.
  • You gain ‘leave points’ by leaving games, and if you have enough leave points, you will be suspended or banned.
  • You lose ‘leave points’ by having good behavior – by completing your games, and not leaving over a long period of time.
• Mastery saving has been improved
  • Repseccing your masteries no longer saves an empty mastery page to the server. This means you’ll never accidentally enter the game with no masteries.
  • You can now remove saved mastery points individually without having to return all your points.
  • When you have unsaved changes in your rune page or mastery page, you will now be prompted to save when navigating away.
• Lowered the volume level of audio in PVP.net at all slider positions. You may want to adjust the audio levels in PVP.net as a result.

• Fixed a bug where viewing another users Champions would display your own Champions instead. This option is now greyed out when viewing another users profile.
• Fixed a bug where the “Play Again” button would not work at the End of Game screen for arranged teams
• Fixed a bug where you could not select the “Random” marker in Champion Selection
• Fixed a bug where PVP.net would crash at certain resolutions

Summoner Spells

• Flash no longer pops projectiles
• Flash cooldown increased to 255 seconds, from 240
• Exhaust now reduces (auto/basic) attack damage by 70% and ability/item damage by 35% instead of the blinding for the duration

Runes

• Flat energy, energy per level, and energy regen per level runes increased 10%
• Flat energy regen runes increased 5%

Masteries

• Ardor
  • Now provides all of its benefit at level 1 rather than half at level 1 and the other half scaling up to level 18
  • Fixed bugs where Ardor was not counting Ability Power and Attack Speed from many sources – essentially anything that wasn’t an item
  • Fixed a bug where Ardor and Zhonya’s Ring/Rabadon’s Deathcap were double multiplicative

• Clarified the tooltip
• Fixed a bug with Rank 2 of Utility Mastery where it was not working properly

General

• Fixed a bug where selecting a Skin late in the countdown process would produce an error
• Fixed a bug where players that had been disconnected from chat could not enter the Matchmaking queue
• We have changed how critical strike and dodge chance work. You will now get fewer ‘lucky’ or ‘unlucky’ streaks where you get no critical hits/dodges in a row, or a lot of them in a row. Your average chance to get a crit is the same as before though – if you have a 50% crit rate, and you make 100 attacks, you’ll still crit about 50 times.
• Baron’s Wrath of the Ancients spell no longer targets stealthed units
• Jungle monsters that previously had negative magic resistance now have magic resistance of zero
• Monster camps will now properly updated when scouted with vision

CardMon Hero will be having a live free-play event at SM Marikina Cyberzone starting today, January 20, 2011. So from thursday to sunday January 23, you can head out and test CardMon Hero, a card summoning based MMORPG from T3fun. This freeplay event will also mark the game’s Open Beta Stage.

Cubione Philippines, or Cubinet has finally announced the Open Beta Test of it’s first localized MMORPG, Battle of Immortals. According to their announcement, the servers will open on December 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. further info is scarce for the upcoming OBT, which hopefully would be addressed in the days ahead.

There is however assumption that the upcoming Leveling competition will be part of the OBT launch, here are the mechanics:

How to Load Up

You’ve got your Game Card or top-up card, now it’s time to load them up! Or if you’re not sure how to use your Level Up! Game Card, here’s some very simple steps to reap the benefits of the incoming Item Mall.

1. Login to your My Level Up! (MyLU) account. If you don’t have a MyLU yet,register now.
2. Click Add Credits on the left sidebar to be able to load up your game card.
3. Fill up the input spaces with your Level Up! Card Number and Card Pin.



4. Click “Load Up Now!”.
5. You now have Level Up! Credits that you can convert to Perrah, Allods Online’s Item Mall currency once Open Beta starts.

To convert your Level Up! Credits to Perrah (Allods’ Item Mall currency), simply click “Use Credits” at the MyLU. Conversion rate is PHP 1.00 = 10 Perrah.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why will there be a wipe?

A Closed Beta Character wipe is necessary for the reason that not everyone has an access to the game aside from a few players who have an account. It is only fair to the general public at the beginning of Open Beta where anyone and everyone can create an Allods Account. Character wipes are only done on Closed Beta Testing. There will be no character wipe on Open Beta and Commercial Launch.

Is my account going to be deleted?

No. You can still use your CBT account anytime during Open Beta.

Do I need to Register again?

Yes and no. Yes, because in order to take advantage of the Item Mall, you need to have a MyLU account. You can register for a MyLU account here. Also, if you did not have a chance to play during Closed Beta, you need to register for an Allods Online account too at the MyLU page.

No if you plan to use your Closed Beta account, you don’t have to register anymore but make sure you link it to your MyLU account to be able to load up if you want to shop at the Item Mall.

Can I buy Items in the Item Mall now? How?

Once the realms become available to the public, yes you can. Check out the “How to Load Up” section above to know how to get Perrah, your money to buy Item Mall Items.

Do I need to install a new client or download Allods again?

If you downloaded Allods Online already during the Closed Beta Testing, you don’t have to download the client again. Your client will work in Open Beta. You just have to patch it on the opening of Open Beta.

Run Up Philippines has gained the rights to release browser based business MMOG, Business Tycoon Online. The game is currently on closed beta test CBT so if you’d like to participate then feel free to join in. The game is also released the date for their Open Beta Test OBT.
