Pinoy Gaming Festival 2011

Last Oct. 29 – 31 were the dates that marked the three-day gaming event at Cyberzone, SM North Edsa Annex which we came to know as Pinoy Gaming Festival 2011. The three day event was filled with gaming tournaments for DotA and Starcraft 2. Local Cosplay celebrity, Alodia Gosiengfiao also graced the event on it’s first day while the cosplay competition was held on the last day.
Since we weren’t able to cover all three days. So here are the coverage pictures I took during the last day of the event (after the jump).
Heart of Swarm Teaser Trailer Teases the World

Blizzard finally released the trailer for the anticipated expansion for Starcraft II. The trailer shows bits and pieces of the story as it continues on where Wings of Liberty left off. If you’d like to see more screenshots you can visit the GamesRadar gallery to see more.
I’d like to say more about the trailer but the video only had enough to pique interest without giving too much for those who are itching to continue on with the Starcraft 2 story. We do see Jim Raynor running around in his marine armor screaming Sarah for half the time… so that’s something right?

It’s a pretty good time to be a PC enthusiast right now. AMD just released the HD6990 dual-GPU flagship while Intel is going full-force with their Sandy Bridge platform. But if you’ve been paying attention to the PC audio market, you’ll know that enthusiast-targeted audio hardware are hard to come by. Level Up! Will Distribute Starcraft II Prepaid Cards

You heard it right, Level Up! Games is the local partner of IAHGames subsidiary Monsoon Online, for the distribution of the local prepaid cards for Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty. By November 18, select i-cafes, convenience stores and game retail shops will be finally releasing the prepaid cards for the Southeast Asia server of StarCraft II at Battle.net.

Remember Linda Liao? The Taiwanese MTV Vj, Actress, Singer, Host and apparently the winner of a Starcraft II women’s cup? Well there’s nothing new happening in her life (well in the gaming aspect) but, what I did find are various photos of her to further emphasize how kick ass (and hot) she is.

No I am not kidding you guys. Apparently, a Taiwanese singer, MTV Vj, host and actress won in a female Electronic Sports League(ESL) Starcraft II tournament which recently concluded. The said Taiwanese player is Linda Liao, who goes with the nickname “Pikachu” won first place in the second SC2GoesFemale Cup of the ESL.
Starcraft 2 Tournament Next Week

I just got word that Alienware-Mineski Pro Graming League will be having a Starcraft II tournament at Mineski Infity next sunday, October 31. This is the first ever Philippine Starcraft 2 tournament that is recognized by Blizzard and the tournament is open for all players who have Starcraft 2 accounts and who will be coming to the venue.
