The TGS trailer for Capcom’s Monster Hunter 4 is all that you’ve come to expect from a trailer for a new MH installment.

New monsters? Check.

New weapons? Check.

New village/s? Check.

So what has me still on the fence about this? As superficial as it sounds, for a mainline, numbered installment of a franchise that practically prints money for them, I hope it wouldn’t hurt Capcom to give it a bigger visual upgrade. Seriously, while I myself admit that I’ll most likely get this down the line (provided it gets an Western release, damn you, region locking) because of the new gameplay features, I really believe that Capcom’s missing out on an opportunity to really make it shine in the visual department.

With that said, I’m hyped for the new stuff they’re bringing in, such as the jump attacks for new and existing weapons and the ability to grab on to monsters and attack them from that position. The latter obviously takes a page from Dragon’s Dogma, another Capcom IP that was released on consoles earlier this year. Amusingly enough, that was one feature I wished was integrated into MH4′s combat. Looks like I got my wish granted, after all.

Monster Hunter 4 will be out on Nintendo 3DS sometime in spring 2013 in Japan.

"WTF!?", "You're kidding, aren't you?", and "Have you been drinking?" are just some of the common reactions to Billy Añonuevo's rather irreverent sense of humor and general take on the world.
