This is another one of those “shorts”, but this one is at around 13 minutes per episode.
As the title suggests, it’s about a mangaka (comic artist) and his assistant(s). I’m not sure if there will be more than one later on.
It’s a simple, realistic premise, but one that’s balanced with a quirky lead character. Basically, Aito, the mangaka, is an idiot and a pervert. He goes as far as requesting his assistant to grope herself for reference, as well as going himself to underwear shops for research.
Why it works: The gags are short and snappy. The rate is about one gag punchline per three minutes. Likewise the art is not bad.
Why it doesn’t work: The humor seems largely related to sexual harassment.
It’s good enough for a few mindless laughs.
