Gigabyte Unveils Ai Top Hardware Series @ Computex 2024

A day before COMPUTEX 2024 officially kicked off, GIGABYTE holds a launch at their VIP suite in front of TAINEX Hall 1 and unveils a set of products designed for the booming trend of artificial intelligence. Dubbed GIGABYTE AI TOP, this is the companyโ€™s solution for local AI training, with GIGABYTE revolving on the idea of training your own AI on your desk, and it as its motto. This is a workstation-class product series mixing in both consumer-grade hardware and server-class products, and is adjacent to the GIGABYTE Compute business rather than stemming from their AORUS Gaming family or the GIGABYTE mainstream family.

โ€œTrain Your Own AI on Your Deskโ€ as GIGABYTE puts it, is the companyโ€™s all-around solution for AI models to be trained locally.

GIGABYTE took this opportunity to unveil its graphics card built specifically for AI Computing. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER TOP is a blower-type GPU that has passed the companyโ€™s rigorous verification and simulation tests for AI computing scenarios, thus ensuring optimal performance during AI workloads. It features 8448 CUDA cores and 264 Tensor cores, as well as 16GB of VRAM. GIGABYTE also showcased this in a 4-stack setup together with other AI TOP components.

The TRX50 AI TOP is an sTR5 E-ATX motherboard built for Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 and Threadripper 7000 series processors. It can support up to 2TB of DDR5 RAM on 8 R-DIMM slots (8-channel on Threadripper Pro 7000 and quad-channel on Threadripper 7000), up to four NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 configuration, and up to four graphics cards on PCIe 5.0. Thereโ€™s also support for dual 10GbE LAN connection with 25kV surge protection.

Thereโ€™s also the W790 AI TOP motherboard for Raptor Lake. It can support up to four graphics cards, up to 2TB DDR5 RAM on 8 R-DIMM slots, up to six SSDs on four PCIe 5.0 x4 slots and two PCIe 4.0/3.0 x4 slots. It also features two Thunderbolt 4 slots with 40Gbps Bi-directional connection.

For storage, thereโ€™s the AI TOP 100E SSD that comes in both 1TB and 2TB variants. Itโ€™s a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD that features up to 7,200MB/s sequential read and 6,500MB/s sequential write performance. With GIGABYTEโ€™s AI TOP Utility, you can offload the processing of large datasets from VRAM or DRAM to the SSD, thus expanding your systemโ€™s memory pool for fine-tuning large AI models. According to GIGABYTE, its TBW is 150x more than standard SSDs. Itโ€™s also backed by a five-year warranty.

Lastly, GIGABYTE also presented its AI TOP PSU, the UD1600PM G5 AI TOP. Itโ€™s a modular 1600W power supply thatโ€™s built with server-grade high-quality materials, 140mm fan, 6 circuit protection designs, and is rated 80 Plus Platinum. It can power up to four GPUs, and GIGABYTE says it has 2x lifespan under high-standard testing.

AI is currently the central theme at COMPUTEX 2024, and with the current trend of LLM showing no signs of stopping, GIGABYTE is going all out with products intended for training AI right at your very own desk, promising to deliver an all-around solution through its AI TOP software.
