Video Games is one of the best entertainment/hobby/skill enhancement training out there that exhibits the technological advancement of the human race. However, just recently.. video games have been getting a lot of hates and bash because of medias influence. I mean, reporting news that makes video game the one to blame of the cause. For example, Teen Killed Grandma for Interrupting Game and an 11-year old kid stabbed to death because of Dota.
Let’s be honest here… First and foremost, video games has nothing to do with how they have acted. Why? Well it’s very easy to blame video games that has violence or some kind of it to what have happened to the people who got killed especially here in the Philippines because the logic of the old, common closed-minded people of this country is that when a child or teenager is exposed to something that has violence, it’ll influence that person’s attitude. It’s easy to point fingers at something that they don’t fully appreciate and understand. The real cause of such accidence is FAIL PARENTING.
I’m 100% Filipino and I fully understand how video games are being discriminated in this country. The Philippines is still one of those countries that doesn’t recognize eSports and I am disappointed about it. However, we should give our support to organizations like Mineski and Imperium for exerting efforts to push Filipino gamers to the professional eSports stage.
With that being said, one of my favorite youtube celebrity, Ryan Higa, has spoken about why video games are good for you.
