We visited GIGABYTE’s VIP showcase over at COMPUTEX 2015 to check out what’s in store for us in the coming days and what the company is planning. Since GIGABYTE operates in separate business units we’ll separate our coverage of their showcase in three different parts. In this post we’ll check out what the guys over at GIGABYTE NOTEBOOK division are excited to show us. GIGABYTE last year launched the AORUS brand as their new flagship lineup of enthusiast and gaming notebooks and over at Computex, we were shown some of the latest and greatest in the series.
During a media briefing for NVIDIA last May, we’ve checked out the new GSYNC-capable laptops and one of them was the AORUS X5. GIGABYTE is very proud of this baby for winning the COMPUTEX Best Choice Award and Computex d&i Award 2015. And the specs don’t disappoint either: at only 0.9 inches thick and weighing 5.51lbs, this is a slim gaming laptop that has some serious horsepower under the hood featuring a pair of GTX965M running in SLI complemented by a 5th-gen Intel Broadwell processor from their 14nm process. A maximum of 32GB DDR3-1866 RAM can be inserted into the X5’s four memory slots, giving it plenty of expandability.
The Aorus X5 also boasts a macro engine to supplement its gaming pedigree with scissor switch keys for the macro keys for faster response times. Rounding off is storage with up 3 M.2 SSDs running RAID0 giving the AORUS X5 a 1500MB/s read rating . The X5 is equipped with WIFI-AC and KillerLAN for its network solution. Included with the AORUS X5 is a 1 year subscription to Xsplit GameCaster for streamers. The AORUS X5 is already available and will retail for $2299 to $2799 depending on configuration.
The flagship AORUS X7 gets souped up with the AORUS X7 Pro-SYNC featuring a GTX970M, GIGABYTE shows off the prowess of the X7 Pro-SYNC with their triple-display setup running Dying Light fairly smoothly. Pricing for the X7 Pro-SYNC starts at $2599. Specs
Rounding off the displays were GIGABYTE more mainstream product line but these are no slouch with some models feature excellent specs for their slim bodies. There’s a complete lineup solution for budget consumers all the way to professionals so there’s plenty to look at. You can read up more about these products at the AORUS official site and GIGABYTE notebook site.
