I know this may seem a little late since it’s already two months into 2011. But since I’m the only person in the writing team who has a xbox 360 at home, I might as well post my top list of xbox games for 2010 (plus, we actually do need to have more xbox games on the site too). But before I continue, I’d like to ask for your consideration that I’m not so much familiar with the world of the xbox 360 so maybe you can suggest games that I can play on the unit to make my xbox library bigger. So here goes:
Number 5: Alan Wake
First and foremost, I’m not really a fan of “scary” games and Alan Wake isn’t an exception. This Xbox exclusive game is included in my list because it scared the living daylights out of me (pun intended). Yeah you can call me a sissy or whatever I just don’t do well with scary stuff, period.
Number 4: Bayonetta
Okay so most of you guys would be puzzled why Bayonetta’s here in the first place. But then I don’t really answer to you since I just decide to play the games I want to play based on what I see. Yes, Bayonetta is the spiritual “rip-off” successor to the now sadly “unmanlinized Dante” (as the public considers him to be) with the flashy moves, seductive poses and the kick-ass (but redundant gameplay) I still found it enjoyable on the 360. More so considering the difference of how it looked on the PS3 version of the game.
Number 3: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World the game
Okay here’s another game that also came out for the PS3. But since I first experienced SP over at the xbox 360 (which me and a friend of mine finished after an overnight) I decided to include it here since I enjoyed it first on the xbox 360. The game reminded me of the old school beat-em-ups that I so enjoyed playing when I was a kid. The allusion to the old Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles were hit me hard since most of the time I kept on shouting “HEY! WASN’T THAT ON THE TMNT GAME TOO!?” while getting myself beat up by the normal leveled enemies- and yes it’s a difficult game too but enjoyable nonetheless.
NUMBER 2: Halo Reach
To set the records straight, I’m not really a fan of Shooter games on the console. I’ve always been a PC shooter fan first and foremost and regardless of how people say that the xbox 360 is THE console for shooters I still find it more difficult to shoot down people with a controller rather than a mouse and keyboard. Setting that aside I consider Reach as a great finisher to a great series. Of course Bungie isn’t really saying that this is the actual last Halo game (well at least for an indefinite time till they decide to make another Halo game) since things may turn out differently in the future. But for now Reach will have to fill in the void of the possibility of a future Halo game.
Number 1: Mass Effect 2
I’ve played though ME2 over at the PC, finished it and still I want to play it again and again. Same goes to ME2 over at the 360. In truth, there’s not much difference between the two since the gameplay is almost similar to on both ports. I just wanted to compare the graphics and audio and well the gameplay still remained true to what I previously played so no change there. Technically, regardless if it’s on the PC or on the console, I still consider ME2 as THE game for 2010, nuff said. So here’s the list! If you guys would want me to try out other games on the 360 just drop a comment and if I like what I see I may even start playing it. (psst, fable perhaps? hehe)
