2K has released the official gameplay trailer for NBA 2K27, giving fans their first look at the next entry in the NBA franchise from developer Visual Concepts. The trailer showcases enhanced graphics and highlight moments from across the NBA and WNBA, featuring cover athletes Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose, whom we covered in our earlier report on the NBA 2K27 cover reveal.
What’s New in the Trailer
- Dynamic Dunk Meter: A new skill-based mechanic continuously evaluates defensive positioning from the moment a player takes off through the finish, widening the green window for wide-open lanes and shrinking it against late defensive closeouts.
- Smarter AI Defense: AI defenders contest shots more effectively and hold positioning better in modes like The REC, for a more balanced one-on-one experience.
- MyPLAYER Builder: Expands from 40 to 53 total Badges, including 19 brand-new ones. Cap Breakers return, with their attribute boosts now previewable directly inside the Builder.
- MyTEAM Auction House: Unified across PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time in franchise history, creating the largest pool of community-listed cards in MyTEAM history. Winning an auction no longer carries a verification delay; cards are added to a player’s collection immediately.
- MyNBA: Community-requested updates include the salary cap effects of the new CBA’s second apron and the ability to offer No-Trade Clauses to free agents.
- MyCAREER and The City: The City gets a new nighttime aesthetic, with its centralized layout kept unchanged per community feedback. The streetball venue Rucker Park has been recreated as the setting for this year’s MyCAREER prelude story, “Fire & Concrete,” and for Street Kings.
