Ubisoft announced Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, a modern reimagining of the critically acclaimed 1999 turn-based strategy classic. Developed by Ubisoft’s China studios in Chengdu and Shanghai, with associate studios in Paris and Montpellier, the remake launches in 2027 on Ubisoft+, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and PlayStation, available through Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Story and Setting
Players join Queen Catherine on her crusade to restore order to her kingdom, torn apart by her father’s assassination and the onslaught of invading factions. The entire story has been woven into a single continuous experience, complemented by a new introductory prologue campaign and a new suite of fully produced cinematics.
Visual and Technical Overhaul
Rebuilt from the ground up in Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake trades the original’s fixed 2D isometric perspective for a highly detailed 3D world with free camera control. The remake features 4K visuals, dynamic lighting, real time weather, and shifting seasons across Erathia’s classic biomes and battlefields.

Multiplayer
The remake is playable solo or with up to eight players in a revamped online mode featuring improved matchmaking and a simultaneous turn system. The fan favorite Hot Seat mode also returns.
Community and User-Generated Content
The remake preserves compatibility with thousands of maps and campaigns created by players over the past 25 years. Updated editor tools and a new in-game UGC hub will make it easier to discover, download, and share community-created content.
Audio
Players will be greeted by a modern audio system featuring voice acting, layered tracks, and rich ambient sound effects, along with new sonic cues tied to gameplay actions such as combat, spellcasting, and morale shifts.
