Hardware manufacturer abxylute is getting ahead of the curve with the announcement of the N6 and N9C. Designed specifically for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, these deck-style controllers aim to bring a “Pro Controller” feature set directly to the handheld experience.

Instead of relying on wireless connectivity, both the N6 and N9C connect directly to the console via a wired USB-C interface. This completely eliminates the need for Bluetooth pairing, while a battery-free design means you never have to worry about charging the controllers themselves. Both models also feature an open charging path, allowing players to charge the Switch 2 while playing uninterrupted.

Shared Premium Features

While the N6 and N9C cater to different aesthetic preferences, they share a robust core feature set designed for competitive and casual play alike:

  • Motion Controls: Both controllers feature a built-in 9-axis gyroscope that outputs natively to the Nintendo Switch 2 for precise aiming.
  • Advanced Haptics: Equipped with dual symmetrical linear motors offering four adjustable vibration levels (0%, 40%, 70%, and 100%).
  • Customization: Features programmable rear buttons that support both custom mapping and multi-step macro recording.
  • System Integration: A dedicated “C” button provides direct access to native system features like GameChat.

The N6: Ergonomics and Hall Effect Precision

The N6 model is engineered for marathon gaming sessions. It features a full-size grip geometry with an 8.5 cm height, mimicking the feel of a traditional home console gamepad to reduce hand fatigue.

Internally, the N6 utilizes drift-free Hall effect joysticks. To improve leverage during handheld play, these sticks are set at a 23-degree angle, a noticeable increase from the standard 18-degree angle found on traditional Joy-Cons. The face buttons use conductive rubber for a comfortable, everyday press, while the shoulder buttons utilize faster tactile switches.

The N9C: Mechanical GameCube Nostalgia

For players who prefer a nostalgic touch, the N9C borrows its distinctive, asymmetrical layout from the iconic Nintendo GameCube controller.

Unlike the N6, the N9C goes all-in on mechanical inputs. The ABXY face buttons and triggers utilize mechanical micro-switches for crisp, tactile actuation. Additionally, it features next-generation capacitive joysticks with swappable gate rings, allowing players to physically swap between 8-way and circular gates depending on the game genre.

Availability: The abxylute N6 and N9C are officially launching via Kickstarter, where early backers can secure Super Early Bird pricing before the hardware hits standard retail channels.
