It’s been a while since NVIDIA’s one-click configuration utility has been out for the PC and no reply has been seen from the AMD camp but that changes today. Just a few days after the reveal of the Hawaii GPUs and the new R9 series of graphics cards, AMD is also unveiling the beta of their new configuration utility called “Gaming Evolved”.
In cooperation with gaming social media Raptr, AMD is taking a different approach towards optimization by taking the best configurations from Raptr’s 16 million users and picking-out the best ones to match the AMD-powered system. This is in contrast to NVIDIA’s approach where a dedicated team create the best configurations for multiple setups by themselves.
Also worth noting is that AMD Gaming Evolved retains Raptr’s reward system amongst others from the network. The application also works for NVIDIA systems but we’re still figuring out if it will configure it, although the social system still works fine.
