In a community blogpost at their website, AMD is declaring the 4GB graphics card is over and the push for “Game Beyond 4GB” is coined. AMD’s internal testing on their 4GB variants of the RX 5500XT versus the 8GB version of the same card shows that there is a considerable difference VRAM makes in gaming performance. Various games were tested at 1080p in High or Ultra in-game settings with a Ryzen 3600X with 16GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. Their findings yielded that the 8GB model performs around 19% better than the 4GB model.
