During Dr. Lisa Su’s keynote at CES 2019 following the announcement of the Radeon 7 graphics card, she also gave a preview of the upcoming 3rd-gen Ryzen processors based on the 7nm Zen2 silicon.
Gaming performance was demonstrated paired with the Radeon 7 running at 1080p max detail settings. The game can be seen running at 120FPS+ but to further drive the point, the Ryzen team gave an onstage comparison of the 8-core/16thread 3rd-Gen Ryzen chip head-to-head against the Core i9-9900K in Cinebench R15.
The demo showed realbench rendering in realtime with power draw shown on screen for comparison. The final score yielded 2040 for the Core i9 9900K while the unnamed Ryzen 3rd-gen part scored 2057. While very close in terms of performance, it was the power draw which was the highlight of the comparison with the Ryzen part drawing around ~130 watts of power versus ~180 watts from Intel. Dr. Su stated that this is what aggressive use of the 7nm technology can do.
A shot of the die was shown showing two chiplets on the processor: the smaller die being the Ryzen 7nm silicon while the larger die is for the I/O which will support PCIE Gen4.
Estimated release is mid-2019. Ryzen 3rd-gen will be compatible with AM4 socket motherboards on launch so older motherboards can be used with the new part as outlined in their AM4 roadmap.

mukhang magiging buhay pa r5 2600 + gtx 1080 na binili ko nung june at september last year :’DDD
Damn ung i9 tinapatan lang ng Ryzen5 3rd gen.
Kakabili lang ng 2700x hays
So manage your expectations…
John Carlo Calison hmmm
As expected. Since wala pa rin leaks ng mga 3rd gen ryzen mobos. Looks promising tho
ryzen 3 zen 2 bomb. wow na wow.

Less power draw means lower temp and strains on the CPU and Mobo. This is good news kasi yung 1st gen mobo can handle this chip.
Yun maeenjoy ko pa r5 2600x, tapos benta nalang and bili 3rd gen pag nalabas na
