Among the various kickstarter projects I’ve seen, this would be the first ever project I am willing to back on the fact that 1. I’ve used to play Armada Online A LOT and 2. This is the first ever actual spaceship game that made me feel like I’m the actual captain of a starship the simplest possible way (sorry Star Trek Online).
So Armada Online is a space themed online game where you are (one among the many) “captains” of starships. The game is segregated into six races. The game has the option of going either PvE or PvP where PvE is usually either through space exploration or instanced battles where you and a handful of players go against hordes of space monsters. PvP on the other hand is done strictly through instanced/faction segregated instances.
Breaking off that train of thought. Armada Online has been in the alpha phase for years now, since the developers isn’t really a “team” and development is marred with delays because of financial and time restrictions. The thing is, regardless of those limitations, the game was successful in bringing the “starship captain” experience.
So now that Kickstarter has been helping out companies (or individuals) bring their projects to light. It’s not surprising that Armada Online is following suit. So what does it mean if you’d support Armada Online?
