It’s difficult to justify a movie when it’s totally based on a video game – it’s been evident with what’s been coming out in history in its entirety. And when it comes to widely successful titles, expectations grow even more. Top that off with countless pushbacks and delays and you’ve got yourself a deathwish of a film.
So, this just in – the world premiere trailer for the Assassin’s Creed film just hit, and it’s as epic as it can get. Michael Fassbender is going to star in the film, which would actually make a good fit as a lead if I do say so myself. His performance so far both in indie and Hollywood have been spectacular as of late. Pair it up with Justin Kurzel’s strong direction in film making and you’ve got yourself a winning recipe.
But whatever the case, since this is, after all, going to be based on a video game, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that the curse isn’t carried over with this one. That, and first day bugs that came in with the first installment.
Assassin’s Creed will be out on December 21, 2016, so this would look like a good film to watch before you open your presents.
