Asus Announces New 3000 Watts Pro Ws Platinum Series Power Supply Series

ASUS has officially introduced the Pro WS Platinum Series power supplies, engineered to meet the escalating demands of professional creators, AI developers, and engineers deploying multi-GPU workstation environments. The new lineup includes 1600W, 2200W, and 3000W models—all designed with modern power delivery standards and emerging high-performance platforms in mind.

Tailored for Professional Systems

Built to accommodate high-powered compute configurations, the Pro WS Platinum series supports multiple PCIe 5.1 and 12V-2×6 power connectors. The flagship 3000W model is capable of delivering stable power to four ultra-high-end GPUs, including models such as the NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation, GeForce RTX 5090, or Radeon PRO W7900. The 2200W variant can support up to four mid-to-high-tier cards, while the 1600W model is suited for dual-GPU configurations in compact workstations.

Despite their wattage class, all three PSUs retain a 175 mm length, making them more compact than many current-gen high-wattage models and ideal for optimized airflow and cable management in standard and custom chassis.

Power Delivery and Connector Advancements

To ensure long-term durability and consistent performance under sustained workloads, ASUS incorporates several critical engineering enhancements:

  • Gold-plated copper PCIe pins, reducing thermal resistance and connector temperatures by up to 10°C.

  • Japanese server-grade capacitors to maintain output stability.

  • Extruded aluminum heatsinks and dual-ball bearing fans for improved cooling and operational lifespan.

  • Protective PCB coatings against dust, moisture, and debris.

Each unit carries 80 PLUS Platinum certification, indicating exceptional power conversion efficiency, especially critical for systems running continuously in production or rendering environments.

Professional-Grade Cabling and Installation Design

Installation is streamlined through the use of etched, flexible power cables with clearly marked connectors for CPU and GPU rails. All models support ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1, aligning them with the latest workstation motherboards and graphics cards. The PSU also includes:

  • Dedicated 12V-2×6 and PCIe 6+2 connectors.

  • High-density SATA and peripheral cable support.

  • USB 20 Gbps Type-C and high-speed I/O options via motherboard headers.

Compatibility

These power supplies complement ASUS’s Pro WS motherboard series, particularly the Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WiFi A and Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE, which offer multiple full-bandwidth PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. With thermal headroom and electrical stability, the PSUs are tuned for use alongside AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000/9000 series and other workstation-grade CPUs.

The ASUS Pro WS Platinum Series delivers a comprehensive solution for next-generation workstation power demands. Designed for reliability, efficiency, and scalability, it addresses the needs of industries running AI training, 3D rendering, scientific simulations, and real-time post-production workloads.
