ASUS showed off their new AI overclocking technology in the recent Incredible Intelligence event which allows capable motherboards to be dynamically tested for maximum OC potential. This allows people with no overclocking background to select an overclocked frequency without any prior knowledge of overclocking. As long as a capable cooler for your processor is provided, the new ASUS ROG Z390 motherboards will do the job.
A guide is pre-installed in the BIOS to read up on more info about the AI Overclocking feature so you don’t need to dive into Windows to find out more about the functions of the AI OC. Going straight to the UEFI BIOS menu screen, you’ll be greeted by ASUS’ familiar BIOS menu and an additional screen is display on the lower right of the screen which denotes your cooler score as well as potential OC figures.
We’ve been working on a brand new build here in the office. It’s based on our Strix Z390-I Gaming motherboard and uses Intel’s 9th Generation Core i7-9700K CPU. This eight-core processor has a 3.6GHz base frequency, and when all its cores are active, Turbo takes the clock speed up to 4.6GHz. Since we’re cooling the chip with our latest ROG Ryuo 240 AIO liquid cooler, we’re hoping to push the top speed even higher.
The ASUS AI overclocking feature is available to select ASUS Z390 including ASUS ROG and ROG STRIX motherboards.
