Blazblue Philippines Calls for Ranked Battle Next Week

Blazblue Philippines, the local group of Blazblue enthusiasts has organized a Ranked Battle (Ranbat) and small gathering for next monday, October 25 at Terumi’s dungeon located at San Lorenzo Village, Makati. For interested BB players here’s the procedures and mechanics on how to join:

Here are the other particulars:

I. PRE-TOURNAMENT

i. On-line Registration
1. You may register online (details discussed further below)
2. Your slot will be revoked if you come later than 12:00nn
3. Please notify us immediately if you will be late
4. Online registrations and other notifications can be sent to ([email protected])
5. Reserving a slot is allowed.

II. TOURNAMENT DAY

ii. Food
1. Snacks and drinks will be provided during the entire course of the event.
2. Lunch will not be provided, so please have an early lunch if possible.

iii. Controller
1. You are allowed to be bring and use your own controller or arcade stick. However, the marshals nor the owner of the house cannot be held liable for any damage or loss to your property on the event of it gets lost or stolen. So please label your property properly and take care of your belongings.

iv. On-site Registration
1. Registration of player and characters will be done at the Venue.
2. A person may register someone else only on a case-to-case basis.
3. Payment will be done on-site, the amount is Php120.00
4. Registering another person is allowed on a case to case basis.
*Late comers will not be able to join the tourney
but is still allowed to watch/join in on casuals after

v. Misc
Attire
1. There is no airconditioning in the room, so please be warned.
2. Please wear something comfortable and decent. Remember you are not in your home.
3. Please bring an umbrella just in case (?)
Parking
1. For those who will bring cars, please park your cars on areas painted green. Anything else will get towed away.
ALSO, Cars Parked at RED painted areas would have their Tires Clamped & fined 1-1.5K so avoid at all costs. (or park outside the village if worst comes to worst)

BBPH RANKING POINT SYSTEM


I. Point system

Your points = x – (P -1)
x = no. of participants
P = Place Finished

i. Double elimination รขโ‚ฌโ€œ if you lose twice, youรขโ‚ฌ™re out
ii. Winner-Loser bracket format

II. Branch Selection
i. Will be done randomly
ii. In the cases of รขโ‚ฌล“byesรขโ‚ฌย or odd numbers, they will advance automatically. Byes will be chosen at random per set.

III. Reminders about the Ranking system
i. Your ranking measures how well you stand versus another playerรขโ‚ฌ™s. The ranking system does not measure your capacity at all.

IV. Money
i. P20 x no. of participants goes to Ted to pay for the electricity and hosting place.
ii. (100 x no. of participants) x 60% รขโ‚ฌโ€œfirst place *
iii. (100 x no. of participants) x 30% รขโ‚ฌโ€œsecond place *
iv. (100 x no. of participants)x 10% รขโ‚ฌโ€œthird place *

MATCH RULES
I. PRE-MATCH

i. Match Setting
1. Timer is set to 99 seconds
2. Number of rounds is set to two to three depending of number of attendees in the interest of time
3. Best out of three matches.
4. Version of BBCS will be the current one. One the event that there is no significant changes within the game in a previous version (such as balancing or abusable glitches), then use of previous version is allowed. *
* – highly advised to update version of BBCS because Makoto loses her space loop after a certain update

ii. Character Selection
1. Players can register up to two characters only. He will have to register who his main will be (the first character he will use) and his sub (the substitute if he chooses to change characters). This selection will last for the remainder of the tournament.
2. Only the loser of the previous match can switch characters in-between rounds.
3. All character colors are usable. However it is advised that both players should not use colors that are almost indistinguishable between the two. *
4. BGM and Stage Select can be set to auto, random or can be chosen by any player. *
5. Unlimited characters and nu-13 are prohibited.
6. Console exclusive characters are allowed **
* – on the event that one of the players is color blind, then priority of color/stage can be given to said player for the sake of fairness.
** – as of writing, only mu-12, makoto nanaya and valkenhayn hellsing are released.

iii. Controllers
1. Macros (A+B+C, B+C, etc) are allowed only for Pads use. No Macros are allowed for sticks.
2. The use of Function buttons or shortcut buttons which result to special moves are prohibited. Beginner mode is prohibited.
3. Pads have to be connected via USB cable to avoid interferences with other units and battery loss (?)
4. Players are allowed for a test match of 7-10 seconds to test button configuration.

II. IN-MATCH
i.. No pausing during a match.
1. A player who pauses anytime within the game automatically forfeits the match.
2. Exemptions to the pause rule is upon the discretion of THREE marshals. However these exemptions will only be considered on cases such as acts of God (controller breakdown, TV malfunction, etc), emergencies and expectancies, and other subjects not covered in the rules.

ii. Etiquette

1. There will absolutely be no physical contact of any sort between both players or from the audience. Player will constitute the playerรขโ‚ฌ™s person, his personal space of 1 feet and any paraphernalia he may be using such as controllers, chairs and etc.
2. Verbal exchange between players is allowed. Trash talking is allowed, but looked down upon. Especially if said trash talker loses.
3. Give your opponent enough elbow room.
4. In-game taunting is allowed, at your own risk.
5. No blocking of any playerรขโ‚ฌ™s line of vision at any time.
6. The audience is asked not to interfere or engage in any sort of verbal communication, (whether it be trash talk, flattery, or outright distraction) or whatsoever with the players.

Step 4: COME ON TIME on the Oct. 25 RanBat event to avoid complications with bracketing. On-Site Registration would be the one ultimately honored
