Moving away from the gaming side, MSI also had their business and professional laptops on display for COMPUTEX 2023. Many of these models focus on form factor and usability but there are some key models that fit in distinct features for specific use cases.
One of the key productivity models is the Intel Evo Prestige 16 laptop. At 17.9mm thin and 1.5kg in weight, its a very portable powerhouse, packing in a 13th-gen Intel Core i7 CPU. While most Intel Evo laptops would end at that, the MSI Presige 16 is one of the rare models that quality as an RTX Studio laptop as well, despite also qualifiying as an Intel Evo laptop as it features an RTX 40-series graphics card.
As an Evo laptop, it ditches conventional barrel jacks in favor of USB-C Power Delivery but the Prestige 16 brings that up a notch by being a PD3.1 rated model capable of 140W charging. This is all on top of its larger 16″ display making it a larger yet still compact business tool, you can bring around with you.
The MSI Commercial 14 is the companies office workhorse. MSI’s Commercial 14 highlights the need for corporate security and this model features built-in NFC and a Smart Card Reader for access credentials. This laptop is made for everyone but specifically made even more ideal for those that require an even high level of authentication.
This kind of application works well with organizations that already have NFC and authentication cards in-place for workplace access and bridges the gap between in-premise security as well as device security with only access badge.
Other models on display were size variants of the MSI Modern, Prestige and Commercial but we also get the MSI Summit E13 flip. But for all the business, productivity and creator models that MSI has on display, the takeaway highlight has to be the Creator Z17. Compatible with MSI’s Pen 2, the Studio-certified laptop boards flagship specs but its not with the engine that the primary feature likes but rather the actual pen.
The MSI Creator Z17 HX 2023 supports the MSI Pen 2 which is an actual writing pencil with replacement graphite nibs so you can sketch on paper and on screen with just one stylus. As of the moment, the MSI Creator Z17 is the only compatible laptop with the MSI Pen 2 which is why this pairing is noteworthy.
We also have this MSI Privacy Screen-equipped laptop which recognizes when a person is behind you. Unfortunately, just as it blurs the screen, it also was a bit hard to focus on the screen lol.
