MSI silently revealed motherboards intended for this year’s Intel CPU release which will be a refresh of the current LGA1700 Raptor Lake-based CPUs. Its currently unknown if Intel will stick with the 13th-gen badge or go for 14th-gen but motherboard makers like GIGABYTE and MSI are already showing off their refresh models.
In their motherboard displays, MSI showed off the new MSI Z790 ACE MAX along with a couple other “MAX” motherboards, the naming indicating they are a newer model: MEG Z790 ACE MAX, MPG Z790 Carbon MAX WIFI, MPG Z790 Edge MAX WIFI, and the MAG Z790 Tomahawk MAX WIFI.
The models will feature a more robust power design as well as WIFI7. The Z790 ACE MAX and Z790 CARBON MAX also receive 5GbE LAN for networking. IO support on this board puts Thunderbolt 4 on the MSI Z790 ACE MAX, while the other models get USB3.2 Gen2x2.
No release date have been set for the MSI MAX boards as of COMPUTEX 2023.
