Corsair Launches AIR 5400: Triple-Chamber Mid-Tower with Dedicated CPU Cooling Bay

Corsair has announced the AIR 5400, a triple-chamber ATX mid-tower designed to isolate heat sources and streamline airflow. The chassis segments the CPU, GPU, and PSU/storage into separate cooling zones, aiming to reduce thermal bleed and fan noise while improving overall performance. Corsair positions the AIR 5400 as the spiritual successor to the original dual-chamber AIR 540 (2013), now evolved with a third, purpose-built cooling chamber.

Retail Availability and Launch Offer

Following the official debut of the Corsair AIR 5400, select retailers have started listing the case online. Newegg has confirmed availability for both the RS-R and LX-R variants in black and white, featuring configurations with either RS-R fans or iCUE LINK LX-R fans bundled with an iCUE LINK System Hub.

Triple-Chamber Layout with Front CPU Cooling

The AIR 5400’s signature feature is a dedicated front CPU chamber sized for a 360 mm AIO (sold separately). Fresh intake air passes through the front-mounted radiator and exhausts directly via a sculpted vent, preventing warmed GPU air from recirculating through the CPU cooler—a common compromise in conventional top-mounted AIO layouts. The GPU sits in its own uninterrupted airflow path, isolated from CPU exhaust.

Dual Airflow Ducts & Big-GPU Clearance

Top and bottom ducts flank the main chamber. The functional lower duct feeds cool air from three pre-installed reverse-rotor 120 mm fans straight into the graphics card, countering vortex losses and keeping flow laminar. Both ducts accept up to 30 mm “max” fans for builders who want thicker units. With 430 mm of GPU clearance, oversized cards have unobstructed intake and egress.

Two SKUs: ARGB or iCUE LINK

Corsair will ship two variants:

• ARGB model with 3× RS120-R PWM ARGB fans for straightforward motherboard control.
• iCUE LINK model with 3× LX120-R reverse-rotor fans plus an iCUE LINK System Hub. The hub enables per-fan control/telemetry and supports up to 24 iCUE LINK devices over a single-cable backbone.

Both configurations place the intake fans on the floor of the case to prioritize GPU cooling and keep RGB illumination unobstructed.

Wraparound Glass, Builder-First Access

Hinged, wraparound glass panels provide panoramic visibility and swing open for tool-light upgrades. The hidden hinge design maintains clean exterior lines while offering wide access for installation and maintenance.

Cable Management & Reverse-Connector Support

Behind the motherboard tray, the third chamber houses the PSU, drives (1× 3.5″, 2× 2.5″), and cabling. Corsair’s RapidRoute 2.0 pegboard tray adds removable, ratcheting tie-down anchors you can reposition and rotate for precise cable runs. The chassis supports reverse-connector motherboards from ASUS, MSI, and GIGABYTE; nylon bristle brushes between chambers let cables pass exactly where needed without pre-cut grommet holes or visual gaps.
