Dell has announced their 18″ Alienware gaming laptop in a disturbing video but shows the brand’s most powerful gaming laptop. This big of beast laptop measures in atย 18โณx 12โณ x 2.3โณ and weighsย 5.4kgs(roughly 12pounds). The most basic model contains 2 GTX 970M GPUs powering its 1920x1080p 18.4″ screen. These GPUs can be upgraded to SLI 980Ms if you desire to do so.
The cheapest model runs a Core i7-4710MQ with a 2.5Ghz Base and 3.5Ghz boost clock. Customers can also choose to upgrade the CPU to a Core i7-4910MQ or the i7-4910MX for maximum gaming performance. The basic model also comes with 16GBs of RAM but has 4 DIMM slots to max out 32GBs. The standard model only goes with a 1TB HDD. For this price point I expected atleast a 256GB SSD. But you can choose to upgrade to a 500GB SSD for just $500, breathtaking right?
The Alienware 18 ย featuresย aย Killer Ethernet controller, Broadcom 802.11ac wireless adapter, 4ย USB 3.0 ports, a mini DisplayPort, and HDMI input and output ports. Dell also included 20 LED Lighting colors across 10 areas. A minor but meaningful feature to most gamers.
You can now purchase Dell’s Alienware 18 directly from their website with the base model starting at $2,499 to its maxed out spec model for $4,649.99.
