Anyone who’s ever sat in front of a computer monitor knows the sheer annoyance and discomfort that eye strain produces. Somehow, that’s been alleviated with the advent and eventual ubiquity of LCD and LED-based monitors. Still, it continues to be a problem for anyone who relies heavily on computers for work and play (read: a whole lot of us).
BenQ looks to completely solve that with the launch of their Flicker-Free line of displays. At their launch event held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas Center last , BenQ unveiled their latest group of monitors designed to alleviate users from eye strain brought on from prolonged computer use.
The event was kicked off with a short introductory message from BenQ Philippines head Charlon Alcala, followed by a talk from Johnson Choi, BenQ’s senior director for market development. Johnson Choi’s talk, the first of two that he gave for the day, focused on BenQ’s market development, history, and positioning. It was soon followed by a brief lecture by Dr. Jonathan Rivera from the UERMMC regarding eye health and computer use. The event was capped off by Johnson Choi’s second talk, which was the highlight of the event, the introduction of the Flicker-Free monitor line and the technology behind it.
As of this writing, the Flicker-Free monitors are out on the market, which pretty much means you can kiss your eyestrain goodbye should you decide to go out and get one for yourself.
