G.SKILL has announced the Flare X5X series, a new line of DDR5 desktop memory built around AMD’s newly unveiled EXPO Technology: Featuring Ultra Low Latency, also referred to as AMD EXPO™ ULL. The initial launch specification ships at DDR5-6000 CL36-36-36-76 in a 32GB (2x16GB) kit, and the series is aimed at AMD Ryzen users who want tighter memory latency without an RGB-heavy look.

Flare X5X Series Launch Spec: DDR5-6000 CL36-36-36-76 32GB (2x16GB), supporting AMD EXPO™ Technology: Featuring Ultra Low Latency. Rolling out to markets worldwide in phases starting August 31, 2026; availability depends on local G.SKILL distributors and retail partners.

What AMD EXPO ULL Adds Over Standard EXPO

AMD EXPO Technology: Featuring Ultra Low Latency is AMD’s newly announced memory overclocking technology. Compared to G.SKILL’s existing DDR5 kits that already support standard AMD EXPO, the Flare X5X series ships with an EXPO ULL profile carrying several extra-tuned memory sub-timing settings, aimed at delivering better latency performance at the same rated memory speed. G.SKILL notes the gains are only available when the profile is enabled on a system with a compatible AMD CPU, motherboard, and supported BIOS version.

Sleek Design, Minimalist Aesthetic

The Flare X5X series drops RGB lighting for a sleek, minimalist heatspreader design. G.SKILL describes the look as clean and modern, with simple lines and refined details meant to give the kit a premium, understated appearance rather than a lit-up centerpiece.

Specification and Availability

Every Flare X5X kit goes through G.SKILL’s internal validation testing before release. The launch specification and support details are below.

Important Notes From G.SKILL

  • Default boot speed: Prior to enabling EXPO in BIOS, the memory kits boot at SPD speed under default BIOS settings on compatible hardware.
  • Compatibility requirement: AMD EXPO Technology: Featuring Ultra Low Latency requires a compatible AMD-based motherboard, a supported BIOS version, and correct system configuration.
  • Overclocking disclaimer: The rated EXPO specification requires overclocking and BIOS adjustments; maximum speed and performance depend on the rest of the system, including the motherboard and CPU.
