A beautiful tribute with a massive catch. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the overall NieR franchise, along with the recent announcement of a NieR: Automata sequel, NZXT has unveiled a themed version of their popular H5 Flow chassis. (For context, Automata itself is only celebrating its 9th year). However, before you start planning your next PC build, there is a reality check that most tech media outlets are failing to mention.

Currently, news sites are aggressively echoing each other about this new release, but a closer look at the source points to a potential regional-exclusive. The announcement originated exclusively from the NZXT Japan Xtwitter  account. NZXT Global has merely shared the post, heavily implying this will be a Japan-exclusive drop (国内発売) rather than a worldwide release.

Brand New Artwork, but Basic Customization

For those who are determined to import one, the case itself is the standard, airflow-focused NZXT H5 Flow. While it carries the premium price tag typically associated with NZXT’s custom “CRFT” lineup, the physical customization is surprisingly basic.

  • The Decals: The tempered glass side panel features a striking decal of Kainé, while the solid back panel showcases 2B. Both designs utilize brand new, official artwork.
  • No Custom Molds: Unlike previous CRFT cases that featured custom physical molds, unique magnetic pucks, or heavy structural alterations, the NieR 15th Anniversary edition relies entirely on these simple panel decals.
  • Production Run: NZXT Japan has not disclosed if this is a strictly limited production run or a standard retail item in their region, adding to the confusion surrounding the launch.

Editor’s Note: It is undeniably a gorgeous case for fans of Yoko Taro’s universe. However, paying premium CRFT prices for what is essentially a decal job on a standard H5 Flow might be a tough pill to swallow. Adding international shipping and import fees will only make that price tag sting more.

We will keep an eye out for any official announcements regarding a global release, but for now, NieR fans outside of Japan should temper their expectations.
