Mexican director, Guillermo Del Toro was rumored to be working with THQ games on a new game. Apparently, it’s not a rumor anymore. Kotaku has reported that Del Toro’s game will be presented during the annual Spike TV’s Video Game Awards.
Joystiq reports that THQ’s Danny Bilson said:
“He’s a gamer who wants to make a great game,” said Bilson about director Guillermo del Toro, “and has very interesting points of view and is partnered very closely with myself and my writing partner, Paul.”
The Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy Director said that this game he is developing with THQ
“It’s… a very different type of horror game. It’s not survival horror. It’s truly a strange, geeky mix. It’s a Lovecraftian thing. Let’s leave it at that.”
All we can do right now is just assume what he has in store and wait for the VGAs… now being a self-confessed scaredy cat I expected that this bit of new wouldn’t be interesting for me, however since he directed the Hellboy movies I gave him a chance and piqued my interest.
Oh if you don’t know what Lovecraftian means here’s the wikipage on who he is (I actually had to google him because I myself didn’t know what this genre is)
