INPLAY Power Supply Distributor Offers Replacement Program After Viral Satire Post

INPLAY distributor CEO Wilson Wei has announced two new aftersales programs in response to a viral satirical post falsely linking the brand’s power supplies to a government building fire.

Wei addressed the misinformation directly, clarifying that official Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) findings cited a short circuit in the ceiling as the probable cause of the blaze— no specific power supply brand was identified in the investigation.

The CEO described the rumor as “fake news” but emphasized that INPLAY would take the opportunity to strengthen consumer confidence through unprecedented warranty initiatives.

Wei said the programs were part of INPLAY’s renewed effort to demonstrate reliability and accountability, citing that the company’s return rate has remained below 0.6% over the past 12 months.

The initial controversy stemmed from a humorous Facebook post by local page 2ph4u, which used a meme-style image implying that INPLAY PSUs were behind the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) fire. The post was shared widely before being flagged as satire.

As of this writing, no evidence connects INPLAY power supplies to the incident. All models under the company’s GS Ultra Series have been verified to carry 80 PLUS certification, with new manufacturing partnerships established since 2023.
