In a recent BBC news tech article, Microsoft has announced that they will be releasing software developer kits in the spring (or sometime mid 2011 here on our parts).
The supposed development kit that will be released is for personal use only for the meantime and Microsoft will be releasing a commercial version of the kit in “due course”.
This announcement was made during an open day at the Microsoft Research Center located near Seattle. With this move, Microsoft is hoping to bring the Kinect to the next level with the help of “smarter developers” out there who are willing to get more from their own Kinect devices.
So here’s to hoping we do more things we can with the Kinect!
