It’s not really a thriving market right now but Lenovo may be joining the motherboard market under its Legion gaming brand according to a report from Guru3D which cites images posted on Weibo of two Lenovo Legion motherboards with non-standard form factors for Intel 300 and 400 chipsets for both CoffeeLake and next-gen Comet Lake-S chips.
The boards in question may in fact be intended for OEM use due to the form factor and bare features. The boards will carry an 8+2 power delivery with VRM heatsinks, dual M.2 connectors, four DIMM slots, etc. The board features a single x16 PCIe slot and not a lot of I/O so whatever they’re building with these would be nice to see once it hits the market.
