Microsoft has locked out updates from PCs that uses Ryzen or Kabylake processors and runs on Windows 7 or Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. So if you have a Ryzen or Kabylake (Intel 7th Generation Processor) processor on your computer and still uses Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1, you will not receive anymore updates from Microsoft. That is according to their support page “Your PC uses a processor that isn’t supported on this version of Windows” error when you scan or download Windows updates“.
Microsoft strongly recommends that users upgrade their Windows 8.1-based and Window 7-based computers to Windows 10 if those computers have a processor that is from any of the following generations:
- Intel seventh (7th)-generation “Intel Core” processor or a later generation
- AMD seventh (7th)-generation (“Bristol Ridge”) processor or a later generation
- Qualcomm “8996″ processor or a later generation

WTF? Didn’t they try all this locking to newer tech stuff in the past? More over, they are trying to force people to upgrade, all the while making those who don’t wan’t too, run in an insecure environment. Making everyone less secure in the end. Not to mention business interests that might now want to run Win 10, or all the streamers who have Win 10 updates interrupt their streams… Bad and unnecessary idea.
Is it legal to use oem ?
As long as you bought it, yes it is.
lol!! talk about forcing ppl to install windows 10 haha!
