MSI debuted its AI Sky Sight technology back in CES 2024 where it was meet with mixed reactions. The featured game then was League of Legends where it placed an overlay onscreen to alert you of enemy movements alongside health and mana status. While many called it a cheat, Riot was silent about the situation and MSI didn’t push it further with no new games added.

COMPUTEX 2024 saw Sky Sight being demonstrated again, this time around with a PvE game and MSI partner title, Monster Hunter Rise. The MSI MEG 321URX QD-OLED features an RGB Spectrum Bar at the chin of the screen which removes the need for an overlay but the PM on site stated that’s its purely the player’s choice and they can still opt for an overlay thru the app if supported by the game.

Monster Hunter Rise is a partner title for MSI and publisher Capcom even collaborated with MSI on a special collection of Monster Hunter-themed MSI products.

The MSI MEG 321URX QD-OLED has an onboard processor which handles scene recognition, which moves all processing to the screen. This is the reason why critics of the League of Legends assistive features were very vocal about it being a chat. That sentiment is toned down on games like Monster Hunter where human players gang up on CPU-controlled monsters.

The PM tells that the monitor can do so much more and adopt many more games but right now it’s still a calculated move but he mentions that MSI’s onboard AI processing can easily handle simple visual cues based on what’s on screen without being deemed to “hacky” or unfair.
