As the world waits with bated breath for AMD’s new 3rd-generation Ryzen processors, board partners are eager to show off their motherboards hoping to get interests rolling as enthusiasts are readying their wallets for their new AMD Ryzen builds. We’ve already covered a couple of MSI’s upcoming X570 motherboards during our trip to COMPUTEX 2019 but MSI has decided to follow up with another event to expand on what they’ve shown so far.
Via our Malaysian partner, Tech-Critter, the event was held in Bangkok, Thailand with members of the press from the Indo-Pacific region were invited for the briefing. This aims to also makeup for their lack of an AMD showcase during COMPUTEX wherein GIGABYTE/AORUS and ASUS held their own presentation to showcase their new motherboards. Details like performance, price and such are still under embargo until July 7th.
MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE
We’ve already talked in detail about the MSI X570 GODLIKE but further details were revealed during this briefing. Coming in, we knew the MSI X570 GODLIKE was an E-ATX motherboard featuring a slew of accessories out of the box. We also know that the board has a 14-phase PWM. Expanding on this, MSI has revealed they are running a 14+4+1 power delivery design with IR3599 phase doublers, IR34201 PWM controller and TDA21472 MOSFETs on the 14-phase CPU power delivery. No bare board was on display to analyze the layout of the PWM and in today’s world where some people are weary about doublers, its really important to see how MSI has designed their PWM.
MSI MEG X570 ACE
Pretty much a cutback X570 GODLIKE, the MEG X570 ACE features a 12-phase CPU power design. Connectivity is relatively similar as well to the GODLIKE but foregoes the accessory bundle of the former.
PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
MSI’s exploration into the content creator market has given rise the CREATION fork of branding for their motherboards. Following that direction, the company has opened the Prestige brand and this line of products are especially targeted for enthusiasts falling in the content creator category. Aesthetic-wise, I find the design on the Prestige x570 Creation and boards before it a bit more flashy than the GODLIKE.
The X570 Creation has a unique board cooling design with all the heatsink on the board (VRM+PCH) connected via heatpipe. The board also has an integrated M.2 cooling on the PCH cover. The board will include a M.2 Xpander-X card, a 10G SUper LAN card and will have PCIe Gen4 support. As mentioned, this meant for multimedia professionals and content creator but performance-wise will have a similar setup like the X570 GODLIKE. MSI made no mention of advanced overclocking capabilities with this board but at its most basic, as with all AMD CPUs that support it, the board will have support for overclocking.
MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI
Stepping into MSI’s mainstream X570 offering, we have the MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI. The board will, as the name suggest, feature support for WIFI 6 built-in as well as PCI-e Gen4. The board is quite cutback from its more advanced counter parts and features slimmer heatsinks on its 10+1 VRM heatsink.
MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI
Further slimmed down from its bigger brothers, the MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI features a more traditional look for the board. An 8-phase CPU power delivery design backs this boards CPU and is capable of supporting memories up to DDR4-4400. It also has built-in wifi. The board is aimed at mainstream users looking for a getup-and-go kinda of setup.
MPG X570 GAMING PLUSLastly we have the MPG X570 GAMING Plus. MSI most entry-level gaming board supporting DDR4-3600 and features a similar 8-phase CPU VRM design like the X570 GAMING EDGE.
Together, these make up MSI’s launch models for their Gaming and Prestige series. Standby for local Philippine pricing for X570 motherboards and local pricing for Philippines for the new MSI X570 motherboards as well when the information becomes available.
