Back in 2018, Noctua showcased some cool concepts for mini-desk fans using their 120mm fans. Being a accessory cooling fan maker, I never thought they were serious about making an actual product out of it as they respectfully declined my request asking for an STL file I brazenly asked for after the showcase. Well fast-forward 6 years almost to the day and now we have Noctua officially announcing that exact product in the form of the HOME series ventilator accessories.
The HOME product line, designed to bring the companyโs award-winning fan technology to home, office, and multi-purpose ventilation. The new line aims to leverage Noctuaโs renowned fan performance, quiet operation, and durability in applications beyond traditional PC cooling. This strategic expansion seeks to address a broader range of cooling needs, making Noctua’s advanced technologies more accessible to a wider audience.
A New Direction for Noctua
Noctuaโs CEO, Roland Mossig, highlighted the rationale behind this new venture, stating, “Noctua originates from the PC cooling market, but our fans’ award-winning performance, quietness of operation, and long-term stability are just as useful in various other applications. Our industrial clients and tech-savvy DIYers have already been using our fans for applications beyond the PC cooling space for many years, so the new HOME line marks the next step in leveraging our technologies for a wider scope of cooling demands.”
Launch Lineup: Fan Sets and Modular Accessories
The initial release of the HOME product line includes two complete fan sets and nine modular accessory products, allowing users to employ Noctua fans for typical home, office, or multi-purpose ventilation tasks.
NV-FS1 Fan Set
The NV-FS1 set is a comprehensive package featuring the highly versatile NV-FM1 pivoting mount, which can hold 120 and 140 mm fans. This mount can be used as a stand on desks or fixed to walls, ceilings, furniture, or other surfaces. For enhanced performance, the NV-AA1-12 airflow amplifier can be paired with the fan to provide a strong, focused beam of airflow. The set includes the NF-A12x25 fan, an NA-FC1 fan controller, the new NV-PS1 230/115 V AC to 12 V DC power supply, a fan grill, and an extension cable, offering a premium-grade, quiet desk or room fan that can be installed virtually anywhere.
NV-FS2 Fan Set
The NV-FS2 set is designed for device cooling and general ventilation needs. It combines the NV-MPG1 multi-purpose gaskets, suitable for placing fans on top of A/V receivers, DVRs, video game consoles, and other devices, with the NV-MPP1 multi-purpose pads for placing fans underneath devices. This set also includes the NF-A12x25 fan, an NA-FC1 controller, the NV-PS1 power supply, a fan grill, and an extension cable, making it a highly adaptable cooling solution for various applications.
Noctuaโs new NV-FH2 fan hub is an upgraded version of the popular NA-FH1, tailored for home, office, and multi-purpose ventilation. It features a 12 V barrel connector instead of an S-ATA power input and includes a removable cover for mechanical protection and a clean appearance. The NV-SPH1 set combines this hub with the NV-PS1 power supply, providing a complete, safe, and certified solution for powering up to eight fans from the mains.
With the introduction of the HOME line, Noctua offers an extensive and modular ecosystem. This includes their existing range of fans in various sizes (40, 60, 80, 92, 120, 140, and 200 mm) and voltages (24 V, 12 V, 5 V), along with USB power adaptor cables, fan grills, and extension or splitter cables. This modular approach provides users with a highly flexible toolbox for addressing diverse cooling challenges in their homes, offices, and other environments.
