Photos of the alleged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition have been posted by Chiphell. The models in the images are clearly prototype designs and they’re unpolished looks suggest possible revisions of a still final form but we can make out some details from the size of the PCB.
The photos shows us a supposed sample PCB of a GeForce RTX 3080 featuring a 2-slot card with a dual fan cooler who’s design seems to be of a single fan on the top and bottom of the card, each on different sides. The other fan will be buried under a shroud.ย The blue on the image is a wrap and is not indicative of a final color. The fans uses similar co-axial design to ASUS cards but have larger blades.
The PCB looks to have an irregular shaped with a V-cutout on the rear-end. The photos do not reveal power connectors so they may be on the tail-end of the card or one of the sides. Although not clear, we can also assume that NVLink will return.
NVIDIA’s Geforce RTX 3080 is based on the Ampere architecture by NVIDIA. There is no hard launch date set for the new cards and the COVID19 pandemic has slowed down a possible release schedule. With PCB and shroud design surfacing, we may see a reveal soon as AMD has been hinted to release their big Navi closer to September.
